Oh, how I'd LOVE to head for Arizona today!! Winters up here in Wisconsin are no fun as you get older. One more year folks! One more year and I'll retire. By then I should know "Lucy" pretty doggone well y'think? I don't think she wants to be a challenge to me. I think she wants to be my friend but just has trouble getting acquainted. I won't hold it against her. I'm easy to get along with.. but losing water on me isn't going to endear her to me anytime too soon. LOL

All in all, I'm dreading putting her in storage. I loved seeing her out front of the house and can't wait to go get her in the spring.

sounds like you had a good time; even with the incidents that happened lacy, so just think how it will be when you can actually shower!!!! does the tv need a box, if it's not digital it will, just a thought.

Yup...got the box and hooked it up but we probably didn't do something right. That's what the maiden voyage is all about huh? It's certainly a learning experience for sure!

DID feel good to get home and take a shower!!! Tonight I bought us each a toothbrush to keep out there along with a few other things that I don't want to be without next time!!! Clothesline is another one!! Funny how you take so much for granted until you're forced to do without huh?

Filled the fresh water tanks and it appears there's a leak somewhere so we had no water when we got up there.

she'll be getting winterized this week and stored alongside the house!!! Just can't believe we own her and that next year we'll be out in her every chance we get!!!

I am very happy for you and know you will be happy with the coach.

This WATER LEAK is something I would find out about before storage and winterization. If the leak is the fresh water drain pipe that's one thing.....if it got water somewhere you don't want it - best to find out now and dry out. These things hold a lot of fresh water and if you really filled it --- a LOT of water went somewhere...

Also regarding the TV converter box...Take the box and interchange it with the VCR hookups and set BOTH the TV channel ( 3 OR 4) and and rv selector box for the VCR and that will tell you if it is something electronic or the hookup.

We put Lucy into storage today....and we found the water problem. Not sure what the pipes areto but there's a bad fitting there and it's going to be replaced before winterizing. A few other little adjustments while she's there and then she gets tucked in for the winter. Sure do miss seeing her out front and can't wait until spring now to get her out!!!
What does everyone do when they can't get out in their motor homes in the winter and tinker? Guess it's time to start planning our first trip!!
Bought her a few new things this week, a set of knives, a dust pan, and a mop!!!

As mentioned above, your drains are probably open. Once drained, it is a good practice to close them to keep any little bugs out of the fresh water system.

Sounds like you had a great time! And hope your water leak problem is solved fast.

As for the tv, make sure the converter box is the last link to the tv... between the tv and the selector box. And make sure the selector box is on *antenna*...

We take ours out once a month to *exercise* her... it makes her *happy*

We run about 5 miles into town and pick up some treat or take out dinner, then drive another 15 miles to a county park. We stop in the big parking lot, overlooking the frozen bay waters of Green Bay, watching the ice fishermen come and go. We fire up the generator and plug in two electric heaters to give it a workout. Sometimes we start up the microwave to heat up the dinner. We watch a little TV, play some cards, read a book and just enjoy a day out in the rig in the winter. Of course we leave all the lines winterized, and bring along a couple gallon jugs of water for the dogs, cooking or drinking. We don't let any water go down the drains, instead using a dishpan in the sink if needed and dump it out the door on the ground. We have a jug of pink antifreeze to use when flushing the toilet if we have to use it. Our city has a dumpstation open all winter if needed, but we usually don't. There are bathrooms open at the ramp where we park for the icefishermen to use.

We try to pick a sunny day when the roads are dry, and not wet with melting snow and road salt. That wreaks havoc on the underside, the exhaust, and other componants.

Don't forget to start and let the genset run a couple of hours each month it's in storage. You don't want to have to put it back in the shop to repair it before you go somewhere next Spring.

Never pass up a chance to go somewhere
