Have to attend a funeral in Watsonville CA
Looking at the map I can either stay on I10 until I hit I5 or can get on 210 to conect to I5 Which way is easier or less construction/traffic
Thanks for your help

Better take 10 to the 15N to the 210W Once you get to Pasadena the 210 turns north and you need to stay to the right to stay on the 210. If you go straight you will end up on the 134 which will also take you to the 5 but staying on the 210 to the 5 is better.

Timing will also be a factor for less traffic when you get to the 210.

I agree 10/15/210 is usually better. What day of the week and time will you hit the 210?

An alternate route to consider is the I215 north from I10 in San Bernardino. It merges with the I15 north. Once over Cajon pass take SR395 north to SR58, SR58 west to SR99 north, SR99 north to SR46 west to I5 north. This route avoids nearly all potential traffic problems of traveling thru the socal freeway system. It is only 18 miles longer than the 210/I5 route above but you will encounter a LOT Less traffic than the socal freeway route. Time of day for traveling this route won't matter trafficwise. Truckers not having stops in socal use this route to avoid the LA freeways & traffic.

If you're going to Watsonville ultimately then you might want to consider coming up 101 from SoCal instead of I-5 to 152 across to Watsonville. The 152 route may prove to actually be a longer drive. Not to mention 152 can get pretty backed up in the pass despite the fact they just opened the new bypass overpass near Casa De Fruta.

You know if you're coming from Phoenix, you might want to go north on the 17 up to I-40 and then west. At Barstow, take SR58 to Bakersfield, north on 99, and east on 46 to 101...then north on 101 to Watsonville.
Just an idea..

During the winer months weather you could experience some delays or could have some snow conditions. Not a real problem if you are not towing. But this route will have the least amount of traffic. Check with Cal Trans the day before you hit the highway for each section.
Take 10 to I-15 to 395 to Hwy. 58 then west to hwy. 99 at Bakersfield. Go north on 99 to hwy. 46 then west to hwy. 101 at Paso Robles then north to Watsonville on 101.

The above route would avoid ALL socal traffic.
Use I10w to Blythe then SR95n to Needles & I40w. This route
according to Streets & Trips adds just under 50 mi. versus
going thru socal.(740mi. vs. 695mi.) Going up I17 thru
Flagstaff adds 160 mi.
BTW I think 89burban meant to indicate using the 101n from
Paso Robles, not the 1
Time of day won't matter as very little of this route has
any significant traffic.
