It's amazing the length that some of these fraud artists will do to rip off the public, but what is sad is the number of people who fall for these scams, especially seniors who are too trusting. I was a Detective with my local police service and prior to retiring I spent a short time with the Fraud Squad so I have seen many of these types of scams, especially the Nigerian letter ones. I'm glad to see that you saw through this one and I hope the idiot gets what should be coming to him. I always tell people "If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is".

Craigslist is fun ain't it? The other day I saw a laptop computer for sale that was "brand new". The description and picture was of a laptop that would sell for nearly $1000.00 new. The poor soul said would take $250.00 for it because he had lost the charger cord and the battery had discharged. I sent the whole Craigslist ad to the Sheriff in the county where the ad was placed suggesting that it might be a stolen laptop. Guess what... It was and they caught the perpetrator as he was dumb enough to respond to their reply to the ad. Imagine that!

Talk about stupid. A man walks into the bank and writes on the back of a withdrawl slip "this is a stick up, give me all your money" He gets into a long slow line. After waiting awhile he gets tired of waiting and goes across the street to a competing bank and presents the slip. The teller takes a look at it and informs him they don't honor competing bank slips. So he walks out and goes back into line at the first bank where he is arrested due to the alert teller from the second bank.

True story.
