We are adding a dinette to our 26" Sierra Toy Hauler. We want to put the dinette more towards the read, to open up the living area a little bit. I was wondering how hard it install a nice large window in front the dinette. Where do i find a suitibale window. I'm gueesiing, I would need to pull the interior panells and cut out the studs and perharps install some kings studs andd a header. The tin sideing would need to be cut to fit, what is the best way to do this. I do have some air nibbles and a cut off wheel. Any thoughts??
It really depends on how the sidewall is constructed. In my motorhome, there is 1.5" steel studs and crossmembers welded together. If you had this type, and did not need to remove a wall stud, then great! The manufacture can probably sell you the windows at the best price, as they tend to buy them by the case. And it will match your present windows, and they can give you a clue as to where to place a window without running into critical things, such as the torsion bars that left the back door, or some electrical lines.
It might be really easy, or you could cut through a critical 12 or 120 volt line and then have a difficult time re-routing the wiring.
With assistance from the factory, it will probably be really easy if you have sidewalls like my Fleetwood Bounder.
I wanted to do some wiring and wall mods on my Rampage when i bought it. Skyline was very helpful in supplying the building diagrams for my trailer. Shows me where all of the studs are, wiring points, paths for plumbing, the whole deal. Perhaps the manufacture of your trailer will do the same... Made adding custom exterior lights much easier and adding some wall hung storage cabinets inside easy as well.
Rampage 260,oh what a toy to have for my other toys
