Haven't been much of a drinker since I was diagnosed with CHF in 2006 and over the past 14 months, since the diabetes was discovered, I've probably had 2 or 3 glasses of wine and Kahula once or twice. Decided to go on a bender when we went out to dinner tonight and got a desert pear marguerita at The Longhorn. 4 sips and discovered I couldn't drink it. Made me sick. On one hand I'm a bit disappointed because I love margeritas. On the other hand, it's a great deterrent to drinking!

Life is too short to spend it all in one place!

Its all that "stuff" you are mixing it with, just drink it straight, a little lime and a little salt. That is what I had to do..........

I got very sick as a young man while drinking tequila shots with lime wedge chasers. Since I can still drink tequila, I assume the limes made me sick so I don't touch em anymore.

This past June, I got horribly ill after drinking half a margarita! Happened again the next time only I was much worse, my mouth had a numb feeling and I had severe pains in my chest. Turns out, I am newly allergic to Yellow Dye #5 which is in any sweet and sour mix and commonly used in margaritas. Now if I want one, I have to have it made without sweet and sour or classic margarita mix. They are actually better this way!
