If the charger is very close to the batteries (hopefully not in the same compartment) then you can run new #6 gauge wire to the batteries directly from the charger.
I think what you will find is the battery charger is connected to the 12 volt power distribution panel inside the RV, and then there is a 40 amp re-settable circuit breaker between the batteries and the 12 volt power panel.
If this is the case, then running a #8 wire from your new charger to a 30 amp auto re-set circuit breaker (Napa auto parts store with 1/4" bolt on connections) to the batteries, with another 30 amp circuit breaker at that location (you get 12 volt power from both directions). Then some of the power will take each path, and you will get the batteries charged without tripping the circuit breakers.
