Hi All,
Posting this for a friend, on his Cougar TT, when hooked to shore power he notices his batts begin to boil. He's already cooked one set and now wondering what the heck is going on. Is his converter/charger toast or is there some adjustments/settings to change somewhere?
Thanks.
For anyone to help your friend the make and model of the converter, and the type and number of batteries would be a first step.
It does sound as if something is either out of adjustment on the charging rate or that the converter may have had a failure of some kind.

It's probably just the nature of his particular converter. If it's not a multi stage charger then the best cure would be to upgrade to a better converter/charger.

My converter won't shut off the charge switch automatically. I put in a disconnect to the battery and keep the battery on a minder. My unit is old but aside from that, works perfect.
