I'm taking shots for blood clots of the lungs and a DVT. I'm just lucky to be alive because the news artcle below is about a man that died from blood clots.

News,
'Wipeout' -- Another Reality-Show Death

In the latest deadly reality show incident, a contestant died last week after suffering a stroke. He was injured while performing a stunt on ABC's physically grueling hit series "Wipeout," TheWrap has learned.

Tom Sparks, 33, a recent graduate of the USC Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism, was rushed from the northern Los Angeles set of the show to a local hospital two weeks ago. Sparks later was transfered to Cedars Sinai Medical Center, where doctors performed several brain surgeries.

But doctors ultimately decided there was too much brain damage, and he couldn't be saved, according an email sent to alumni by an Annenberg faculty member.

Sparks died Nov. 5.

This thread should be closed. It has nothing to do with Lovnox or RV living.

Bloodclots kill a lot of people, no news here. I agree with targaboat.

I will have this posted on one of my other forums that deal with health. I'm a news reporter on my other forums.

Thanks, Robert

Why would you consider yourself "lucky to be alive" because someone ELSE had a clot? Lovenox is frequently used as a temporary means of thinning the blood after surgery and until a more permanent solution can be implemented (like Heprin). As to the appropriateness of the post, it has more to do with RVing with disabilities than a large share of the pet forum has to do with RVing. IF he is dealing with the daily shots while RVing it's appropriate but not sure what the story in the link has to do with anything.

The ER doctors at my local hospital and a hospital in Nashville Tennessee told me I was very lucky to be alive. My lungs was 80% percent blocked with clots the doctors told me. It was a grace of God that I'm alive today. I went to the doctor about another medical problem and the doctors found these clots which I don't know I had. No side effects and I was digging a ditch at the time when this happened.

I took Lovonox for thirty days after my hip replacement. It is an expensive prescription.

I just finished Lovonox to treat Atrial Fibrillation which was discovered when I was undergoing pre op testing for a bilateral mastectomy. I took the shots twice a day for 10 days and then had the cancer surgery. I will be placed on cumaden as soon as I heal from the surgery.
