I did a search on an RV dealership in Alvarado Texas - Motor Home Specialist - but didn't find a lot of info here.

We're starting to search for another motor home to purchase before we retire. We found the website for Motor Home Specialist and their prices seem to be better than other dealers we've looked at. They also show MSRP price with discounts upfront, unlike LazyDays.

Just wondering if anyone has purchased from them or had an experience with sales or service dept. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

My experience with 'Motorhome Specialist' was with a broken windshield wiper arm. I called several places as were going through Texas when our driver's side arm broke during a rain storm. The Motorhome Specialist had two arms in stock so we drove there.

I bought both arms and they installed the driver's side for free! That is good customer service!

Two years ago when I was looking for either a new or late model used RV I researched Motorhome Specialists significantly. While I ended up purchasing my RV elsewhere, my research did not give me any concerns about dealing with MHS.

We looked there a few years ago....they told us to pick out a golf cart and go. If a rig was locked up it was either sold or on consignment and then get a salesperson to show it. Didn't find what we wanted at our price, but I do recommend it as a place to look.

We looked there a while back and enjoyed the experience. General atmosphere of respect and dignity. Hustle and hassle issues so common in showrooms was just not there.

I was thinking about Motorhomes Of Texas in Nacogdoches when I read the OP's question and my response reflected a visit to that facility. Very sorry for the confusion.

You might want to check PPLmotorhomes.com
They are near Houston and have a large number of rigs.

You might look at Motorhomes of Texas in Nacogdoches. We bought our motorhome from them last March and we highly recommend them.

Are you looking at new or used?
Used and consignment units do not get good customer support from MHSRV. If your heading to Texas check out Ancira RV (next door to MHSRV). When I attempted to buy a consignment unit and found the Norcold recall had not been done, I was told MHSRV does not do recall work (even thought they are on the Norcold web page) MHSRV told me to take it next door to Ancira.

If you want more info on my experience with MHSRV, drop me a private message.

We have purchased two Motorhomes from them since 2002 and have always found them to be very professional in their approach to sales. We were never pressured and walk-thru after sales was very thorough. We purchased one unit they owned and the last was a consignment. We were treated very well on both sales. In fact the salesman had the seller put new starter batteries on our last purchase ( A DP) and helped us negotiate a better price from the seller than what was listed. Our salesman's names was Robert ? . I think he is now in management as he has been there a long time. After each sale, I was told to call if I had any questions or problems they could help with. I had to make several calls and they were always courteous in responding to my questions. I think if you talk to "Cowboy", you will find him to be helpful as you shop with them. Happy shopping......Arnold

We had an excellent experience at MHSRV. We searched for few years and found that their prices were the best for us. Flew to Texas and drove it home. They were very helpful with financing and we did everything over the phone or internet. They even suggested that we mail a box of needed item to them for the trip home, so we wouldn't have to buy things that we already had.
We would purchase again with them.
Happy Trails,
