RE: HEY we need a sticky for our TT pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have had some crazy weather down here. It was in the mid-70's yesterday and today. But after tomorrow we will be in the low 50's to mid-60's. Of course, that is winter for us.
I guess I shouldn't complain too much, should I?
Boy would I love to have those 50's and 60's right now. Our last camping trip was in October and lows were in the low 30's with high's in the low 50's.

RE: Seeking Thumper owners

I though a "Thumper" was when you were towing your trailer with a flat tire!
:B :B :B
(Hey, it's NOT a bunny joke...)
I wasn't even thinking of bunnies but instead I thought Thumper was some sort of new hitch!

RE: How much did it cost you to camp last year?

Ok, now WHY ON EARTH DO YOU WANT TO DO THIS????!!!! This is supposed to be fun and if you couldn't afford it you wouldn't be doing it. We know that it all adds up and we go as thrifty as we can but don't always track it. Seriously, we track our three week trip down to the cup of coffee and souvenier purchased and it's still affordable. Don't always need the number to figure it out.

RE: Proof Of Liability for Pets

On the last posting here - years ago I had a purebred Rottweiller. She was a beautiful girl - 125 pounds of muscle and very gentle. We put her through training and she became a therapy dog for our local hospital. Around that time we bought a house and the homeowner's insurance asked us if we had any dogs. I told them yes - two, a Cocker Spaniel and a Rottweiller. They stated that they were denying me homeowner's insurance because of the Rottweiller. I told them that she was a registered pet therapy and was approved to ride in the cabin of an airplane and they were denying me insurance?! They backed down and covered us.

RE: Convection Oven --- Stick Home

Wait, I'm confused. What we have now is a microwave on top and a conventional oven on bottom. Are you saying the convection oven is also a microwave, and that I no longer need a separate microwave oven?
I thought you were talking about a combo microwave/convection oven. I do have a true convection oven - a dual fuel. Cooktop is gas and oven is electric convection. It makes the best meats - crispy, juicy, tender chicken and prime rib. As one other poster said earlier, the convection oven cuts 25% of your cooking time and temp. For a conventional oven recipe that requires 400, you can set it to 375.

RE: Convection Oven --- Stick Home

I had a microwave convection oven in my last stick house and loved it. We should've had one installed in our present house. You can could foods faster and along with crisping and browning. So you get the benefits of a microwave with the pluses of an oven.

RE: My Buddy Is Sick :(

It's sad to hear this about your guy. I'm glad that you made an appointment with the vet. Better to let him diagnose the problem. Our lab has had lower back problems that a few days on Metacam helps with. Keep us posted as to what his problem is. Take care.

RE: Question for ladies

Same as all the other women who say they wrap them thoroughly than into a plastic lined wastebasket and empty it daily if not more. One more thing, I keep personal wipes on hand to stay fresh but than again although these can be flushed in a house, I don't in the RV. Into the can it goes too. DH also uses the personal wipes when he needs them - when he's cranky!

RE: Brussel Sprouts ??

We like brussels sprout. I steam the fresh ones first, then saute them in olive oil and a little butter with Kosher salt and ground pepper. Sometimes we sprinkle them with parmesan.

RE: Proof Of Liability for Pets

No. We have been RV'ing for a little over ten years with three dogs of different breeds and sizes and no problem. Even when we crossed into Canada for one trip, we were asked only if they had their rabies vaccine but never were asked to show it. We carried a certificate of health from our vet just in case but again have been asked nothing else.

RE: Peeyou . . . what do I do?

No. I know what you mean about FLOUR tortillas - nothing beats the aroma of a fresh cooked one but I was talking about corn tortillas for tacos. I fry then just slightly because we like soft shell tacos.

RE: Peeyou . . . what do I do?

Just an update to everyone who responded - I went out to the TT after its having sat now since October 26 and an thorough cleaning. The smell of the old cooking oil is gone completely and it smells new again. I didn't do anything special or even open the windows since it's been cold here and I just kept forgetting to do it on the weekends. But, I learned my lesson - fresh oil only or better yet, I will just heat the corn tortillas till soft, no oil. Don't need the extra calories or cleanup. Thanks to all again for your prompt responses and suggestions. Had we lived in our rig full time I would've taken direct action using one of the many suggestions.

RE: Will my slide work with the batteries out?

I would be worried about leaving the unit plugged in for very long without the battery's in it. I am thinking that the converter might go into a heavy charge mode to bring the battery's that are not there up to charge and burn something out. Please note I am not an expert I just think there COULD be a concern. Eddy
This wasn't the original question.
