RE: Fixing leak at awning arm mount

It doesn't look like the mount is over a vertical support member (stud. That causes the awning support to push directly onto the sheet metal that offers little strength.
Not sure what is on other side of wall to install some kind of support.
Might see if mount could be shifted to a vertical support. May only need to move half inch or so. You would have to see if you can feel a vertical support.

RE: Why wont charger work on 6v batteries?

Batteries should be in series. + to - for jumper between the batteries.
Your portable charger maybe seeing charge from the rig. Try shutting the batteries off or removing ground wire and reconnect the portable charger.

RE: What chassis do I have? I know it is Ford, but...

You can take the VIN number off the dash to a Ford dealer to get exact information. It should be a F-53.
The Chilton's manual for Chev has motorhome chassis. You may want to check for a Ford version with F-53 chassis.
Haynes shows a manual 36094 for full size Ford Vans. Not sure if it includes MH chassis.

RE: Propane Tank Filler valve replacement

Go to a LP distributor such as Suburban or Ameri-gas. Many have the valves in stock or can get them quickly.

RE: Specific Yellowstone Q's

Yes, I have been there for many years not only at Yellowstone but to and from work for 20+ years.
You are suppose to relax and see the sites. It is bad in other parts of the park.

RE: Specific Yellowstone Q's

Luke: Mileage isn't the only thing to consider. Time is closer to a better way of judging. The roads on the west side are a little quicker then the the curvy ones on east and south side. Road between Fishing bridge and Canyon can get very slow at times with wildlife.
Road between Canyon and Norris has a higher speed limit with less curves.
West Yellowstone is a distance from Madison campground and junction which I would consider more centrally located.
I think it is more up to the individual as to what they want to see and o. They must be the ones to determine their time frame.

Hsikes: Some rigs have normally closed switches others are normally open. I would get wiring diagram for your step, trace and mark wires, then reconnect.
There is two fuses. You may have blown one.

RE: Electric Step Problems

Clean the moving joints and linkage. Lubricate with light oil or silicone lube. Nothing heavy like grease. Do not use WD-40. As Larry said, check and clean the ground. There should be two.

RE: Block Heater trips GFI ????

If the heater is connected using a cord body, inspect it for corrosion.
If it is a cord body connected or hardwired the connections in the heater are failing. Time for new heater.

RE: Trip out West

You are pushing yourself for time.
You will need to get in and out of Yellowstone-Grand Tetons by mid Sept. or you could getcaught up instorms. You will need to use routes that are quicker, I hate to say. Be somewhat prepared for any kind of weather.
Some places interesting are Devils Tower, Badlands SD, And Mt. Rushmore. Each of these locations we have spent a healthy day.
You could loop in to yellwostone via central Wyoming exit out the north and head east through Montana.

RE: Trip out West

How much time do you plan? this will make a big difference on which route and sites to take in.
We came back east and was on the road over two onths. Why? because we avoid interstates and prefer primary federal and state highways.
Get your self a current atlas like the one from Walmart. You do not need the truckers one as posted on other thread.
Write down what you really want to see and do. The send an e-mail to each state's tourism office. these are listed in the Trailer Life directory.
Lots of commercial adds but they do contain odd places to visit.
Suggest coming west on one route and then taking another home. for example we came east on US 2 and came back on US 50, sort of.
Allow time for optional stops. We lost sevreal days because of the extra stops. We are now planning another trip in the spring. Getting places listed from tourism guides and places like the National Park Service (NPS.gov).

RE: Specific Yellowstone Q's

There is mnay campgrounds in Yellowstone if you are setup for dry camping. Going through the park is not 10 MPH depending on time of day and route.
Since you are going south after yellowstone you may prefer Grant Village, or Bridge Bay.
It doesn't take much to dry camp. Depends on whether you stay at rig, view the sites or other specific needs. Many here would give you advise, some good some not so good..
