Had the same problem with labs and pointer. Never solved - just would pull the pontoon up on shore and let them go from there!! Also, we used life jackets on them when the weather looked bad or the lake was crowded and at night. Just trying to be as proactive for them as for the passengers. Don't have the boat any more and miss those days on the lake.

I have fed twice a day sin Ben I, He has GI problems and was fed 3 times a day for awhile. Have just continued it and both BenBen and Willow are at a good weight.

I had some biodegradable bags and then noticed that I was putting the bags into the trash cans at camp grounds that were filled with - guess what - non-biodegradable bags!!

I don't know if this can help your DW, but I have major allergies every spring which cause me to be sensitive and miserable if I do nothing. I take prescription starting early and take them for 3 months. My doc has me on generic flonase, generic allegra, Singular and Patanol for my eyes. They are scripts and some expensive, but the setup works for me. Over the counter, I would use sudafed and lots of saline nose washing. Also benedryl is still a pretty good antihistamine.
I really sympathize with her!! I finally had to have surgery, I had so many sinus infection. Worked great though! No more infections.

I think you did a wonderful thing and that dog now has a life and someone who cares. People do thrown dogs and cats out on the roads to get rid of them. It is a horrible thing to do and now you have a great new companion. Congratulations!

Willow digs up moles - the back yard is getting holey! Anyway, she loves to bring in the dead ones for me. Occasionally it is a field mouse. Ah, a dog's life!!

WE try our best to take great cars with our pets, but sometimes things just go the wrong way. You needed to get the tooth care, but the loss is now so difficult.

Dr.Doug, we will watch her carefully through the years. And we have a blood glucose meter now! Any thoughts on what we can do to maintain her? We will be using meds to provide support for liver, gallbladder and pancreas as well as careful on the food.

Report on Sophie cat,3/12
I wanted to let you all know that Sophie is doing very well. She apparently is not diabetic at all, but her inflamed pancreas caused the blood sugar problems and she is steady now. She has gained weight and is doing all her daily cat things - which is mostly sleeping on the kitchen chair! The vet just shakes her head and smiles. It is rather miraculous because the cats just don't live through this. We know we will have to treat her the rest of her life and we know she may go downhill at any time, but for now and who knows how long,she is having a great life.
The vet may write this up because there are very few guidelines for maintenance of the cat since they DON'T LIVE :B
Thanks again for all the thoughts and prayers!

Dogs often do well with loss of sight and/or hearing. I had one dog go deaf and he quickly learned hand signals for commands. Hannah couldn't see very well, but her nose was always active!!

I LOVE him. So cute. When I brought in Willow she was 7 months and BenBen did not like it. He wanted us to take her away and bring Koko back. It took 3-4 days and some reprimands on our part, but they are best of friends and she is keeping him lots more active. It has been great for him.
