RE: Grocery Store Savings -- your personal best?

I used to be a very diligent coupon shopper. My best was saving almost $200 on a $300 bill. Our local stores used to double all coupons, don't think any of them do anymore.
On meat, for those who shop at Sam's Club with a business membership, the store opens at 7 AM and you can find discounted meat. I don't remember, but I think they take 20% off of meat that needs to be sold that day.

RE: Dad lost his job, so this family lives on the road

$300/30 days=$10 a day. I would really like to know where they are staying for $10 a day with a rig that size, add gas and insurance. I can't see how they're doing it.

RE: Texting?

Off topic here, but the kids texting 24/7 drives me crazy. Everytime I see my grandson, first words out of my mouth are, put your phone in your pocket.

RE: Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween to you too.
We just finished a party for 14 girls, giggly 13 yos. The girls had a blast. Now it's nap time before a party at my other daughter's house.
Halloween is our favorite kids' holiday. Thanksgiving is so hectic with all the cooking. Christmas is overwhelming for the little ones, so they really enjoy Halloween the best.

RE: parenting issue........

My son was not allowed to have a myspace. He created one behind my back too. He was grounded from all videos games, mp3 player, computers (except for homework) and TV. I explained that if he could not use electronics within our guidelines, he could not use them at all.
Wise decision.
Since the bd party is in a couple of days, it wouldn't be right to cancel it now. I would definitely take away all electronics though. When my granddaughter acts up, I stick my hand out, she knows to round everything up and put it in my bedroom. She's allowed to use her iPOD during pe when they run, not if Grandma has it.

RE: Water spots

Simple Solution is fantastic at getting the water spots off of glass.
I was able to find it at an Ace Hardware in Palm Springs.

RE: Birthday party

Theme birthdays are the "in" thing right now.
Growing up, birthdays were pretty much a non issue, don't really remember celebrating them. My kids always had family parties, with just the family invited. A few times they got to invite a friend to go somewhere.
My grandkids have had big parties since they were 1. Grandma does not foot the bill, but will contribute a bit.
As for the kids holding their hand out when someone walks through the door, the parents need to teach them some manners and put a stop to it.

RE: Do you sew?

I guess I am writing this for my wife, but I also wish to know.....
Today we went to a fabric store; they were having a sale on Simplicity patterns. I/we thought there would be a line-up at the door. There were two people.
Who sews anymore? Apparently fabric stores are disappearing (sp?) and then the fabric is not made-in-US....and is inferior.
I take in LDS women sew; witness the dress in their compound in TX.
We save lotsa $ with Brenda's repair jobs and I get to have whatever I want as does she, in "fashions" :)
Kistler
LDS women do not live in compounds.

Good luck in your search.
Don't bother coming to SoCal. All of the school districts are hurting that they've laid off a lot of teachers.

you both have the same last name
I still believe a lot has to do with the person at the bank you are dealing with and their attitude.
