RE: Roof of TT

Thanks for the tips, everyone. I suppose I'll send the wife up there to do some looking around, and take a digital camera to take pictures if she sees anything questionable. :)

Roof of TT

We've had our Rockwood Roo travel trailer for over 5 years now, and during that entire time, I've always wondered if it was safe to climb up onto the roof. Since our trailer has a rear-slide, there is no ladder to climb up to the roof, and I felt that was an indication that it was not a good idea to go crawling around up there. But, I am wondering...is it safe to crawl around on top of the roof? I really think I need to check the seals around everything up there, but not exactly sure if it is safe for the roof. Nothing is leaking (yet), but I think it is time to check those seals. Anyone have any thoughts about this?

RE: Most Dissapointed National Park/Monument visited

"Mt Rushmore. Basically defacing a mountain. I was there for about 30 minutes....." If that is your idea of a mountain, you haven't seen the Rocky Mountains. Mt. Rushmore is not a mountain. :) The monument that I've visited that was the most disappointing has to be Devil's Tower.

RE: Backup Camera at Sam's Club

Amazon.com has the camera for $75. Last week, they were down to $69, so you may want to keep an eye out if you do not need one right away. I bought this camera a couple of weeks ago. I did not want to tie it directly into any of the wiring for my TT in case I want to use the camera somewhere else. I use an external power source to power the camera/transmitter. I have a portable air compressor that has a car power adapter on it (aka cigarette lighter). I took an old cell phone car charger, and cut off the end that connected to the phone. I split the wires, and spliced it to the power wiring for the transmitter/camera. It works perfectly. Now, I just mount the camera in the back window of my TT, run the wires and transmitter (with some velcro) toward the front, and that is it. A clear picture of behind the TT. It really adds to my piece of mind while driving as it also covers most of the blind spots around me (but I still turn my head to make sure I'm clear).
