VERY neat, thanks for sharing.

I was surprised at how many I have been to, even though it's a small percentage.

and, as is posted over in the 'C' Forum...you may soon be able carry your guns in National Parks. I mean..what could be better than that? Whether in the open or concealed will depend on your permit and what state you are in...but still..an armed family is a happy family.

Very cool!!! I have been to more than half which means I need to get out and travel more. And yes, garyhaupt, the GOP attached the bill that allows concealed carry in our national parks and wildlife refuges to the credit card bill which B.O. has no choice but to sign. I don't think the dems are very happy about the Republicans using the same tactics that they have been using for the last eight years.

Actually, as I understand it it allows concealed carry and/or open carry depending on state law. For example, WA is an open carry state, thus if one desired they could open carry in the NP's just like other parts of the state.

Not that I would necessarily do that (open carry), but I think this bill makes more sense than the one from the previous administration as this one simply mimics state requirements.

I think that's the main point. National Parks are mostly surrounded by National Forests and BLM public lands, which have always allowed firearms in accordance with state and local laws. The NFs and public lands have not become a war zone with campers in shootouts and widespread poaching, so why does anyone think that will now start happening in National Parks? This makes the laws uniform and easier to comply with, rather than the patchwork quilt of firearm regulations we have now.

I "DO" see the number folks injured in animal attacks declining in the future.
Nothing like a "bang-stick" to deter a lion/coyote/bear from gnawing on your appendages.
