If you're just travelling thru, I recommend "Little America" (littleamerica.com/wyoming/). It's at mile marker 68 on I-80. Just ask at the desk. We've stayed twice; nice restaurant, coffee shop, etc. They even have propane and a dump.

If you head south on 191 out of Rock Springs there is BLM land and lots of places to just pull off. We like the firehole canyon overlook. Not a lot of traffic and easy off. but may be a little far for you as we are usually coming from the south on 191

While it's not a campsite or boondocking, the Lyman KOA between Evanston and Rock Springs is quiet, grassy and pleasant. The facilities were clean and the staff was very attentive. We didn't need hook ups so they only charged us $20.

We overnighted at the Rock Springs Walmart on our recent trip to Yellowstone. Walmart was welcoming, spent a quiet evening there. Don't think this is what you're looking for, but offer it up FWIW.

I think there are several public access places along the Green River that are suitable for parking over night. If that isn't the case you could use Little America but it is busy at night so a bit noisy. If that isn't appealing, just turn off the interstate on RT 30 for a couple of miles--there are plenty places along that route to pull off and spend the night.

Ditto this. We stay there when we have work in Rock Springs....even tho it's an hours drive away. Nice little park...usually lots of deer around. There is a lot of BLM land both sides of I-80, but it's pretty dry and possibly windy until you get a ways from I-80.
