RE: Winnebago Factory Service - Now spoiled

The dealers are NOT the factory. I have zero expectations of improvements in repair service at dealerships (on average). I would buy a Foretravel for that reason (factory is driving distance from where I am),.....if only I could afford it. The next best thing is for me to do my own repair and maintenance (so far, so good).

RE: Jimmy Hoffa

I heard he was buried in the concrete of the Renaissance (downtown).

RE: I have been done away with

Go for it! If you don't want to learn to drive, or if you don't have time to drive, or if you want to be part of their field testing program, or if you're not me, or if it's simply what you want,........then it's for you.

RE: Sold Trailers--- "I'll be back"

Energy requirement for this mission is high. You're probably still relatively young. Congratulations

RE: Who has to work 4th of July weekend

Nobody has offered me a job for about 10 years now. No doubt they've forgotten all about me. I watch NASCAR racing on weekends, and go fishing during the week (don't like crowds).

RE: New slant on Walmart camping.

You can tell I'm a Texan, but you can't tell me very much...:B BTW I get a buzz if I drink 2 shots of tequila (two homemade margaritas). If I'm at a bar/lounge this means I have to fork over enough to buy 6 or 8 margaritas (THAT ain't going to happen). One reason I know I don't have a drinking problem is because I get sick BEFORE I get very drunk (happened twice in my life). BUT, I appreciate WALMART's offer very much, and have taken them up on it many times (while staying sober). I paid over $170K for my motorhome, but it's OK to call me a cheapskate.

This problem will take care of itself,....I'm sure.

RE: "Storm Chaser" Tim Samaras dies

Didn't I see somewhere (TV documentary maybe) where they were now using specially armored chase vehicles?

RE: "Storm Chaser" Tim Samaras dies

I quit racing motorcycles. I quit racing cars. I quit doing airborne acrobatics. I was addicted to addrenaline. Now, life is almost boring. RIP junkies.

RE: Installation of the Amish Cooling Coil Units

I suppose all of them are capable of ending up with a weak spot which might corrode quicker, and begin to leak. However, if the Pines RV Refrigeration unit is made with a higher-quality steel tubing, seamless and of heavier wall as well, IMO this by itself will lower the chances of ending up with a weak spot. But, the weld itself (the bead) can also develop a hairline crack due to improper technique or cooling. I bought one because of the lower price PLUS I believed what David Force told me. He certainly did NOT say anything of the product being superior due to the "Amish" connection. And, I certainly don't assume that the Amish people inherently produce better products. In fact, some of the choices of material, and some of the construction quality, of my Newmar Dutch Star "box" was substandard. BTW my original Norcold 1200 cooling unit worked perfectly for 7-1/2 years, and I have no reason to doubt that this one won't at least equal that performance. But, if it fails I'll post about it right here.

RE: Do we set ourselve up for failure/disappointment?

I always start with low expectations. And, I celebrate if it turns out that my expectations were too low. But, I'm always ready to celebrate,....because I'm an optimist.

RE: Tioga George Calls It Quits

I'm going to stay in denial as long as I can. I'm already succeeding in learning how to have fun within my new budget. That's a big part of it,....with me.

RE: Whats in your camping tool bucket?

Back when we were fulltiming, the big basement was packed full. But, I wanted MORE. It's just one of the reasons we no longer fulltime. The thing is, NOW the big 3-car garage is full, and the basement in the motorhome is still full as well. I do all the maintenance and repairs, on everything. And, I'm always behind schedule. Perhaps it's because bass fishing is more important. Did I mention that my bassboat is full also....:B

RE: Who was president the year of your birth?

FDR, but I was not interested at the time. I started getting interested when Eisenhower came into the picture.

The wheels do NOT turn UNTIL the coffee checklist is read outloud, and re-checked. I suggest restructuring your priorities.

RE: Trouble Free Motorhome Owner?

IMO there's no such thing as "trouble-free". I've owned six Class A motorhomes, and a variety of other toys.

RE: NASCAR at it finest ........huh?

She made the show, and finished, and still had a raceable racecar at the end. IMO she probably increased her popularity. I know I still like her, and admire her.

RE: NASCAR at it finest ........huh?

I get it. It's our nature to complain. That's the reason that there's been a steady stream of complaints ever since NASCAR was born. The world has been, and IS, changing all the time. And, NASCAR keeps changing right along with it. Obviously, they can NOT keep everyone happy. I like the way NASCAR keeps adding rules, and changing the rules, and I like the way they manage their business. For one thing, they do NOT borrow more money than they can afford to pay back. For another, they have a full field of racecars and drivers and car owners and sponsors. Obviously, they're doing something right. Thanks NASCAR GO TONY! GO BUSCH BROS! GO KASEY KAHNE!

RE: NASCAR at it finest ........huh?

If the fans vote her into the show, it means a large segment of the fans like her. I like her too. If she doesn't end up with a "raceable" car,.... that's the breaks. We all know there's always an element of luck involved. I'll be tuned in 'cause I know it's going to be a good show, and a couple of my guys will finish up front. I personally do NOT have a problem with NASCAR running THEIR business. And NO, they're not going to run off all the fans either. They're going to keep on making money, and more power to them. Just think about all the jobs they create. BLAH, BLAH, ....BLAH
