RE: Maybe found my diesel.

Nice truck. Doesn't have extendable towing mirrors. Be careful of the cooling system too, I just had to replace radiator in mine. It only got hot when towing fifth wheel.

RE: Keystone Mountaineer?

For the most part, it's been trouble free.

RE: Keystone Mountaineer?

I have a 2006 Mountaineer and it has been a good trailer. In 06, a Mountaineer was a stripped down Montana. Same frame and components but not as many fancy options. I've been happy with it.

RE: Travel with guns

You definitely don't want to go into Canada or Mexico with any weapons. For the states, you need to know what the laws ares in each state. NE states (expecially NY, NJ are strict as well as IL and Washington DC. I had a cop suggest to me that if you're ever going to have one in a vehcile, you need to have a Concealed Weapons Permit, period.

RE: Ford F250 Diesel Advice

The 6.0 has not been a very good engine and from what I understand, problems are increased dramatically if a tuner is installed. I've heard the 6.4 is a good engine, but a fuel hog. If you can find a 7.3 (2002 and earlier) that's in good shape, go for it. I've heard the 6.7 (new engine) is proving to be very good.

RE: Montana Tank Question

I'm not sure what you mean by enlightening you, but instead of having a lot of extra plumbing, there is probably a drain valve directly under the sink area. Mine also has 2 gray tanks and a black tank and I empty all three when dumping and treat all three with tank treatment and about 5 gallons of water each time I dump.

RE: I need help !!!!!!!!

You'll have no problem with either trailer and the weight is really insignificant with an F350 diesel. Remember, it's like pulling an open parachute, it's the wind resistance that effects you more than the weight. I get 10 to 12 mpg pulling my rig and it's about 13000 lbs. BTW, I've been advised by service writer and diesel mechanic and local Ford dealer to not put a tuner on a 6.0 Powerstroke. It seems that this causes stress on the headbolts and then you're facing a $4000 repair for new head gaskets and studs.

RE: Is this the Power Stroke with the bad engines?

I've heard the biggest issue with the 6.0 is when someone puts a tuner program on the chip. The engine is already tweaked to its max by International (Navstar) and when it gets tweaked any more, it has a tendency to overheat and mess up the head bolts causing a $5k repair. This is from several friends who have done this and dumped theirs instead of paying the 5K and also by a Ford service writer I've known for years.

RE: hawaii

Take a cruise. My wife and I caught a repositioning cruise in April of 2010 and had a 12 day cruise with 6 different ports. Total cost was about $5000 including flight from Tampa to San Diego. Had a blast.

RE: Honda 2K troubleshooting

I purchased a 2 year old one from a friend. It had less than 2 hours on it however it had the same problem you describe. I had to have the carb removed and cleaned now it works great. It was stored with gas in it, and that's what caused the problem.

RE: Daytona Rally

Marcus is doing a great job and sharing some of his success with us. I also received a VIP invitation but I already had reservations at the Daytona Rally for a site with electricity. I called anyway and they gave me a refund in the amount of the dry camping. What a deal! THANKS MARCUS.

RE: Genny to run A/C

Just got two Honda EU2000I's with a parallel kit. It's supposed to put 3200 watts with a surge of 4000 watts in that form. Runs 1 15000 a/c with no problems. One new EU2000i and one new EU2000i Companion model cost about the same as a EU3000i but they're a lot easier to handle at 50 lbs apiece. Check out the honda generator link for lots of good information.

RE: Post your MPG in Diesels.

I have an 02 F250 with 7.3 and 373 rear end. Running empty, at 55mph i get 20 mpg, normal driving running 72 or so I get mid 17s. With fiver in signature at 65 I get between 10 and 11. Truck has 210,000 miles and has had minimum repairs.

RE: EU2000i Carburator Drain Screw // Drain Fuel Pump

I just got my EU2000i. It had 3 hours on it in 3 years, but had not been run. Had to have the carb cleaned. Now, I add about 1/2 cup of fuel in it every 30 days and run it dry. Thanks to gasahol, evaporation is much worse and anything I have with gas in it gets run every 30 days. In the trimmer, blower, and hedgeclippers, I run them, shut 'em off, drain the gas, and run them dry. No more $100 bills for me.

RE: Good Sam Rally

Yep, we're going. This will be my third one. There's something going on all the time, seminars, displays, and other activities throughout the event. They'll be some good deals on RVs, RV equipment, and other stuff. Entertainment is good, and there's a lot of stuff to do around the track.
