RE: Something's digging under my tires

"If nothing else works find a local zoo and buy a small amount of lion droppings to spread where the dig is."
Buy it? Geez, you'd think they'd give that stuff away for the asking. LOL

RE: How to Find Source of Leak

Given the location, I'd have a look at the marker lights as well as the cap/roof seam. Wouldn't rule out a windshield leak either.
Some shops use the SealTech machine to find leaks. Basically, an air hose is brought into the coach and pressurizes the interior. A tech with spray bottle of soapy solution moves around the coach spraying and watching for air bubbles. Somewhere on this site I've seen a home/DIY set-up using a leaf blower. Removed a window screen, cut a piece of paneling to fit opening with a hole cutout, the size of the leaf blower nozzle. Reported to have good success.

RE: CURE FOR CREEPING SLIDEOUT

Your problem is a leaky solinoid. Your pump has a retract and extend solinoid for each component it operates. I have seen either one fail and cause this. They are easy to change but you have to get them from an HWH authorized dealer.
Yup, that's exactly what cured my HWH slide creep. The "extend solenoid" had an internal leak. Very simple to swap out, they simply screw in/out on the manifold.

RE: RV Steps

Have you driven through rain? My steps go bonkers with moisture. However, as soon as they dry out, everything returns to normal. Verrrry frustrating!

RE: Surround Sound Speaker Wire Location???

Alan,
Winnebago has many downloadable files on their web site. Wiring, plumbing, 12v, 110v schematics are available. Here is the link:
I'm pretty sure you'll find a set of plans for your entertainment center. Hope this helps somewhat.
Udornf4, gotta love it! For me it would read UbonK9cop.

RE: Hydraulic Levellers

If your system was built by HWH Corp. you may be in luck. These folks have alaways been very helpful, either via email or phone, regarding any questions/concerns with any of the systems they make.
Here is a link to a page on their website that allows for service manual downloads. Good luck.

RE: Video Tiffin Allegro Bus Fire @ Cherry Hill Resort Yesterday

I like the way the firefighters stood by until it burned to the ground before applying any water. Guess less clean up that way.
And what exactly did you see remaining worth breaking a sweat over?
The nozzleman did everything correct, cool the exposures and put water on the pile of rubble.

RE: Dometic Refrigerator Problem

Both the ammonia smell and yellow powder are a dead give away that your cooling unit has sprung a leak. There is no fix, either replace the cooling unit or buy a new fridge. This has been discussed many times on these forums and using the "search" function will give you many opinions on which is the best way to go. Sorry :(

RE: I overfilled my hwh resevoir.

When I over do it, I simply cycle the slide and jacks a couple of times and the reservoir will spew out whatever amount is too much. If you have easy access, roll out some paper towels or an old bath towel to catch the dribble from the vented cap.

RE: currently camping...help..

If I'm reading this correctly, your problem is the water valve does not completely shutoff after flush and not the rubber seal leaking water out of the bowl. Correct?
If so, I had a similar problem and water valve replacement was the only cure. A PITA to replace because of space limitations. The job itself was easy, just getting my big mitts into position to work was the issue.
I also agree with the above post re. pressure. Too high incoming water pressure can be detrimental to pipes and valves. If this leak is occurring on pump pressure, valve replacement is going to be the fix.

RE: Sailing the Chesapeake in a Class A Motorhome - 2 problems

I've had my stairs act crazy after driving through heavy rain. Stairs won't respond to the switch no matter which way I put it, stairs staying out on engine start up, only to go up 5 minutes later with no input from me. Had a very nice trucker pull up alongside me as we approached a toll booth, holding up a hand written sign saying "Stairs Out". I was ever so grateful for that as we all know how tight a toll booth can be. Worry about mirror clearances while wiping out your stairs...not good!
And with all these problems, rain has been the common denominator. A day later and my stairs work just the way the factory intended. Go figure. One of the things on my "list" of things to do is make the stair controller and electrical connections weather tight.
Give it a day and you might find things back to normal.

RE: Still confused about battery problem

The battery may well be cooked and need replacement. What is happening is your converter is overcharging your battery. Short of replacing the converter for a more efficient 3 stage converter/charger, place a household plug-in timer and you'll get by much better. You leave everything plugged in as you do now, but the timer controls the off/on for however long you want it too. I used to let my battery charge twice a day for 1 hour each session.

RE: Winnebago battery switches

Same on my 97 Adventurer. I've also found that the on/off Aux. Battery switch will sometimes mess up. Seems that from lack of use, the solenoid will hang up in whatever position it was left in. For example, if I leave the switch in the On position, coach 12v power is disconnected. Sometimes turning the switch Off will not re-engage the 12v power. Repeated flipping the switch will get it to work, but the reality is the solenoid is getting lazy and not responding as it should. BTW, the solenoid I speak of is located under the hood, right side behind a black box marked Battery Control Center. A couple of screws and the cover comes off and you can see the two solenoids. One for 12v disconnect, the other is for the Aux. Start Momentary switch.

No 12v in coach?

Need some help. MH is in signature. I've been plugged in to 110v, 24/7 for the past 2 months. Today, took the MH out for a spin around the block and realized I had no 12v being supplied to the coach... lights, pump, fridge etc.etc.
I do not have a manual 12v cutoff (as in knife switch), but do have a dash 12v disconnect switch. Evidently I inadvertantly activated this disconnect at some point. I had a devil of a time getting this latching solenoid to work. It took frequent cycles of engage, disengage to get it to switch over. Once it did, all 12v systems operated normally.
My question is; is this the result of age? lack of use? malfunction?
All electrical wiring connections look clean and are tight.
I guess I'm trying to determine if this was just a fluke or a warning.
Any thoughts?

RE: We have a problem with the Black Tank Valve

I've owned 2 TT's and a MH and each valve leaked a bit over time. My cure has been to expect the dribble when the cap is removed and holding the discharge hose under the cap to catch the fluid.
