RE: winnebago jetair ride

Expensive huh? I hear ya! I've been pricing air bags for my Jet Co. tag axle. Winnie price was listed @ $450.30 per bag while Jet Co. priced them @ $354.00 each. Main bags are even more pricey @ $576.90 per bag from Winnie and $411.00 per bag from Jet Co. There's gotta be a better deal out there!

RE: Yikes, big snowstorm coming my way - need advice!!

Take a look at your jacks. Jacks frozen to the ground can be a real PITA. I like to place a 12" x 12" sacrificial piece of wood on the ground then lower the jacks onto it. This way the jack base plate is not one with the ground.

RE: Looking at 97 35' Bounder with ford chassis.

I'm really enjoying this thread:). No, I don't have a Bounder, but I do have a '96 460 F53. All I hear on this forum is about the 16 inch tires and narrow front end. Yet, I just keep rolling along (six months/year) and it sounds like so do others (some FT'ing.) I hear ya J & J. I roll along in the sweetest riding MH ever! The tag axle makes this ole girl float on the worst of roads. Sixteen smixteen...cheaper to buy and lighter in weight than the big boys. Have never seen the down side of having a narrow frontend. My rig can't ride any better as is.

RE: 1996 F53 With 460

gt5, I'd be interested to know "how" they got the radiator out? Was it dropped out from below, between frame rail? Or,out the front via the hood? I've been looking at mine and haven't a clue where I would start should it become necessary.

RE: Help 2 small problems driving me nuts.

I always considered 1/4 tank as EMPTY and begin looking to refuel at under 1/2. This way genset use is never a concern and my guage seems to slowly drop from full to half but nose dives between 1/2 and empty as I drive.

RE: Winterizing Problem

Here are the instructions I copied from this forum. It worked!!! 1. Remove the two screws holding the metal flange around the city water fill valve on to the panel about 1/2 way. 2. Reach around and unscrew the plastic adapter screwed into the City water fill valve. Remember you're looking at it backwards - if you had x-ray vision and could see through the panel, rotate the plastic adapter clockwise to unscrew it. I needed a pliers to get it started, then it turned easily by hand. 3. Once the adapter is completely unscrewed, remove the flange screws the rest of the way and the City Water Fill valve comes out easily. 4. Look into the end where you attach your hose. You should see a small white plastic post with circular white plastic rim. The rim has two "ears" that stick out. Underneath the rim you should see a spring. 5. Turn the valve around and look at the other end. You'll see a circular white plastic disk with a small hole in it. If you look carefully, you'll see a black o-ring that is only partially on the plastic disk. That is the problem - when the "blow out" happened, the o-ring came off of this disk. 6. With a pair of forceps (or needle-nose pliers), grab the circular white plastic rim (the one with the ears) in the middle. Don't grab the ears themselves, just grab the rim. Then, pull it straight off of the plastic post. It doesn't take much force to pull it off. 7. You'll have a white plastic donut with ears in your pliers. Set that aside. Remove the spring and set aside too. 8. Push the white plug out of the valve by pushing from the end where the hose connects. 9. Now you'll see the white disk with a groove around its circumference. You'll also have the o-ring that is loose. Roll the o-ring back into the groove. 10. Put the white disk back into the valve and hold it with a finger. 11. From the hose-connection side, put the spring over the white post. Then pickup the white plastic donut (with ears) holding it by the side with your pliers. Pliers should not touch the ears. Push it onto the post and it will snap into place. Your valve is now working! 12. To test it, wrap your lips around the end that screws into the RV and blow hard. Nothing, right? Then push the white post in and blow again. Blows right through. 13. Put the valve back into the panel and get the white plastic adapter screw started. Turn it counter-clockwise (looking at it with XRay vision). Make certain not to get it cross-threaded. It should go on smoothly. One it is well started, get the two flange screws started. Then tighten up the adapter by hand, tighten the flange screws, and then give the adapter about 1/4 turn with pliers to snug it up.

RE: Magantek Converter

I replaced my Magnetek with a Progressive Dynamic 9245C converter this summer. Verry easy to do, basically plug-n-play. The biggest problem was working in the confined space.

RE: 06 HR Endeavor with fire dammage

Nothing you have described sounds "normal" to me. In fact, it all sounds like heat damage from the fire. For me, the deformation of the antenna crankup handle speaks volumes in terms of the amount of heat that made it into the interior of the coach. You can't help but think of "what else ?" With all the replacement components on the roof I'm thinking "lipstick on a ..." If you're truely considering this unit, take it to an RV tech and mechanic for a serious look at all components. Me personally...I'd find another one!

RE: what year is my motor home

V.I.N. numbers are assigned to the vehicles chassis. Motorhome builders buy these up to a year before a model year is released so it could very possibly be a 2003 chassis with a 2004 home built on top of it. For components other than chassis related, I'd say your looking for 2004 parts. For chassis parts it would be 2003.

RE: Clicking sound when generator is running

I believe you're hearing the generator hour clock ticking off minutes. Mine is quite loud to the point of being a distraction. Regarding the microwave, is it securely plugged into the 110v receptical behind it?

RE: Motor home jacks

Hmmm, new one on me. Jacks are either electric or hydraulic, I have HWH hydraulic jacks and there is no pressure relief valve. A vented cap on the fluid reservoir but no relief valve. Do you have air brakes? They have a relief valve that pops when proper air pressure is reached.

RE: battery water boil out

I think you'll find that you need your battery in place for the refridge to operate. Even when running it on 110v, the control board needs 12v to run. I think your option is to frequently check your water levels or swap out the converter with a 3 stage charging capability.

Yup, somethings up. RV.Net loads OK for me but none of the signature photo's are showing up...just little red X's. I've made no changes in "My Preferences" and the pictures were there yesterday.
