RE: Dometic tundra - compressor not cycling?

I had an electrical part fail on my 2006 Tundra fridge after about two years. I called the manufacture and they had me check to see if the fan was working which it was, then he had me check to see if the compressor was hot or cool, it was cool which means there is a problem, it should be warm to the touch.
They sent me out a new board that I replaced in a few minutes and it has been good ever since.
I wish I could be more help as far as names or models for the unit that was replaced.
Every trip I make and I turn the fridge on the day before I have my fingers crossed that it will fire up. Other than that it has been a great fridge.
Have you contacted Bob at Outfitter, he might have some info on who to contact.
Paul,
Thanks for the background. Hopefully it was the exact help I needed.
I ended up calling Dometic Marine since they list the tundra as a marine application. They refered me to a company called AAP at 804-633-9454 located in Milford VA. Talked to a gentelman there who said that most cases where the fan comes on but the compressor doesn't, it is the cirucit card you described. The card is the "speed control" card for the compressor. $11 for the card, it will be shipped tomorrow and I should have Friday evening since they are only 60 miles or so down the road from me (but one hell of a pain to drive down and pick up myself with the traffice we have around here.).
Fingers crossed that it is that card.
Sam Thanks for the contact info on the circuit board. I will likely order one as a spare even though i haven't had any trouble with mine. The other thing you might check is the fuse in circuit panel under the dinette table. Although it still should have come on with shore power plugged in anyway. ...just a thought. Let us know if the circuit board does the trick. Good luck :B

RE: Biting midges or cedar gnats or no-see-ums

I met the little buggers in the spring of 1980 while we were doing soils investigations for the BLM in SW Colorado.
Whazoo, this is not far from Durago... Yikes!!
I've heard a garlic clove necklace and some Tenessee Honey (taken internally) will keep them at a distance ;) Or is it wolfbane and a silver bullet?...chicken bones. Bury some chicken bones and say a chant.

RE: 2003 Outfitter Apex 9.5 Value

Testudo is right; If you can get the serial number from the present owner call Bob at Outfitter and ask about which options were included with that camper. My serial number is located on the back outside wall. This will help you put a value on the camper. Ask Bob what he thinks it is worth...
Good luck :B

What NS camper collapsed?
2006 Outfitter Apex 8; the front of the tub collapsed and the passenger side wing ended up on the truck box.Wow that must have been quite a failure. Maybe you could post the pictures you took of this damage. ...Might help somebody else in the future.

RE: Any wet bath shower mods?

I don't have any suggestions other than a shower curtain for your issue, but I can provide some pros for a wet bath.
We like our wet bath for three reasons:
1) The shower space is larger because you are using the entire bathroom.
2) The bathroom footprint is smaller so you get more counter space.
3) It's always clean!
Note: We shower at night and squeegee the walls and floor when we are done. By morning it is dry and sparkling clean.
X3
We put a cut off piece of shower curtain over the toilet (about 3' x3'). The teak grates mean we don't have to worry about the floor. We hang the the toilet cover with the tie for the shower curtain to dry, wipe the sides and teak grates with a paper towel and we are done. keeps the seat an your feet dry.
...sorry about the blurry picture

Sad news from Janet Curley...

Hello Ben and Tory,
This is Janet. I very much regret having to tell you that Don passed away on February 12th due to a pulmonary embolism. It was very sudden and a big shock, and I still cannot believe it. Don enjoyed sharing and trading "words of wisdom" with many people on several forums. Don was a very special person and I know he will be missed by many. We had been married for 33 years and I have a wealth of wonderful memories. Don grew up in Southern California and I plan to take his ashes there at a later date.
