RE: Beware of Flying J

We are 1/3 of the way through a 7500 mile X country trip. I have used FJ exclusively and have had no problems until yesterday. At exit 95 on I 65 south of Indianapolis, IN, the diesel sign indicated $3.89 9/10 (cash) and with my Good Sam Reward card I thought I would be paying $3.83 9/10 to fill my DSDP, HA!!! I failed to look at the price at the pump at the RV island, and when I was finished, saw that I was being charged $4.14 9/10 per gal. This is over 30 cents per gal., or in my purchase, $22.00 more. When I complained, I was told that if I checked the price listed on the interstate sign, I would see that it said "tax exempt trucks only". They were right, and you could see it if you had strong binoculars.
I have always paid the price which was shown on the hi way sign so this is a new gimmick. I don't know if this is exclusively in IN or if this is going to be nationwide. Has anyone else experienced this?
So you're saying the pump price showed 3.89, but you were charged 4.14. Or did you even look?

RE: Border Agents rude and difficult at Nogales

I have been to thirteen different countries, the only trouble have ever had was an uppity female Miami customs agent, who was fine until she realized I was not opening one of my boxes. It was the only one she wanted to "look" in.
Now there's a plan. Don't open the empty box and they'll only open in it and no where else.

RE: synthetic trans fluid

Although Dexron VI is a tremendous fluid it is a synthetic blend.
Not if you use Valvoline DEXRON-VI Full-Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid.

do you have to buy a plug that will fit that 12v outlet?
Only if you want to use it.

RE: Connect RV to 20a outlet

Since the TT has a GFI also, you are plugging a GFI in to a GFI and I think that is a no no.

RE: Battery Keeps Dying on Tow Car

This sounds like you once had a charge line but it no longer works. Check the rig fuses etc.
Sorry CA Traveler do you mean fuses on the motorhome and or CRV? THANKS SO MUCH TO YOU ALL

RE: Extended warranty

My 3rd trip out with a brand new unit and my hydraulic system blew a massive leak that left me sitting in a campground with non-functioning slides, non-functioning landing gear, and a campground operator that wanted me gone because it was "Closed for the season" day.
How did an extended warranty help in that case?
Getting their permission to fix it would extend your stay.

Epson got sued for that trick of shutting off the printer for low ink when there was 20% ink left.

RE: CW does it again

Bottom line, don't blame CW if the cost of these "low cost" items is not such a bargain after shipping is added. As stated previously, they have to make a buck. I suspect CW is not making much on the shipping. UPS is the one making a buck on the shipping. If CW gets a few dollars of the total shipping cost, so what. They have to pay to warehouse the items, to "pick" it out of the warehouse when an order is placed, and package it. Their employees do not do this for free.
I thought all that was the cost of doing business. Should be included in the price. They have to do all that for the stuff they sell in their stores.

RE: How level is level

But how level is it when you are packed up and ready to go. Stuff and water in the TT and people in the TV. I think you're fine the way it is. 1" high in the front is not that big of a deal. Move some things to the front of the TT.

RE: wanting to travel down baja to San Quentin for clamming.

Archery,
As you are probably aware the best source for Travel
info related to personal security would probably be
thru the State Department website. That having been
said, I have relatives that live on the Sea of Cortez
and do not feel any increased threat level.... but ,
awareness is key...
(give em' a call)
Charles
Yeah, Check with the State Dept, ha, ha. The government does such a great job running every thing else, how could they screw this up.
