RE: Fuel fill rubber hose to gas tank, HELP!!

Probably the ethanol eating it up. Try to find a replacement that will stand up to it.

RE: A question about transmissions

When Dodge added exhaust brakes to the Cummins, they found that a thrust washer in the trans would suffer from compression braking. So it was replaced with a different design (in 06). The odd thing is lots of guys had been using EB's and had not reported any problems with "thrust washers". If it were me, I would get one of the controllers you spoke of and enjoy the benefits. You may also find and EB would be nice. Just keep in mind that it's possible you may have trans damage eventually.

RE: Longest Satisfactory Use of Easy Lube Axles?

On mine, 2 of the 4 leaked onto the brakes and I greased them EXACTLY per the instructions. My results seem to be common from what I read here. FWIW, a few squirts wont grease the front bearing if it's the first time. If the EZ lube portion has never been used before you have to pump grease in until it fills and slightly pressurizes the rear bearing cavity area. Only then will it flow forward towards the front bearing. Greasing is not completed until you see grease movement at the front bearing around the zerk area. The first time takes lots of grease because the factory lubes the bearings before they are installed and leaves lots of air space in the cavity.

RE: Pyrometer and diesel trucks

If towing with the cruise control set, the throttle is in the "idle" position so it's hard to tell how hard it's pushing the truck. I like having a EGT/Boost gauge because it lets me know at a glance how hard it's working.

RE: brake fluid?

If you need to add very much then your brakes are either worn or leaking.

RE: Lippert axle bearings

If I were you I would take one hub off and get the exact numbers off the OEM parts (bearings & seals). Buying the wrong parts will not help you at all. :) I took mine out for this exact purpose and guess what? No numbers at all on them! Nor was there a country of origin but I'm pretty sure I know where they are from.

RE: Looking for a new Winnebago Era 70x

When you joined, you indicated that you had read the rules. You may want to go back and actually do that now. Especially: "You may not use the Open Roads Forum for "For Sale" or "Wanted" posts."

For a moment I thought maybe this was the sequel to "Snakes On a Plane". ;)

RE: Unexpected repair

I did the same thing with my baked fridge vent cover and on another TT, the AC cover. They were both like leaning on a egg shell. I busted them before I could even react.

RE: Rubber roof pulled out from side...

That's terrible! I suspect that the adhesive has given out and it is probably billowing on top as you go down the road. That's the only way I can see it being pulled away from the edge like that. Scott

RE: Sorry for another tire post, but this has different twist.

Tandem axles arent ever referred to as "duals". Dual mean two tires on the same axle and thats the way it is described in all the DOT literature.

RE: I'm Sleeping on the Ceiling Tonight

I've been incredibly lucky to have never seen a snake in all our adventures in E. Wa. But after hearing this I'll be on the lookout next time!

RE: Pets are NOT to be left unattended... what??

unattended means just that. don't leave your dog alone in the RV with no body to attend to him/her. :s bumpy Wrong again!!!:h Whats wrong with that statement. It's plain English and means EXACTLY what it says. To make it even more clear, here's a definition: Adjective: 1. Not noticed or dealt with: "her behavior went unnoticed and unattended to". 2. Not supervised or looked after: "it is not acceptable for parents to leave children unattended at that age". The generalized interreptation of the Rule in question concerns leaving a Dog outside unattented. No matter how the dog haters try to re-interrupt the meaning, changes NOTHING. You can or anyone here can say its my way or the highway...that doesnt make it so. You speak of behavior as if there is some behavior to be upset at...what if there is No such behavior to be pissed at and the only issue is the fact someone else has a Dog(thats the Norm rather than the exception). The responders here that make such an issue of "pets" in general dont give a Rats Azz about anything but themselves....the only good dog is the one thats left at home and to that I say you can all Kiss my.....fill in the blank! By the way, my dogs are OLD enough to be left unattented in my RV!!! The rules have never said "outside" in any CG I've ever stayed at. You added that part. It's also a nice try to make out anybody that supports this rule as a "dog hater". I didn't see where anybody said they don't want dogs in CG's in general I guess you think all this twisting of facts takes the heat off people like you that don't care if their dogs are bothering others. It doesn't, it just makes you look even more self-centered.

RE: Digital Multimeters- An RVer's Best Friend

VOM (Volt Ohm Meter) was common vernacular for the old style analog meters but still fits for digital meters too.

RE: Can't find thermostat on fridge

If it has one it will be up next to the other controls but, many don't have one (like mine) and frankly, I don't miss it LOL! How does one adjust the temp w/o one? I've never needed to, the fridge has always worked perfect! (knocks on wood)

They don't put Bearing Buddies on RV type trailers.

RE: Where to sale my used part

Ebay is great for this. I sold a slightly used all-plastic toilet out of our then new TT and got as much for it as I spent on a new ceramic model to replace it. There's crazy people on there!
