RE: Digital TV conversion

Are you sure its a booster? On mine, it's a switch to change between the antenna & the cable hookup for the camper. I think if the green light is lit, it's the antenna.
Mine is a booster. It was in my 03 Lance and it is in my 08 Lance. I get no channels at all if booster isn't on.

RE: Digital TV conversion

Ok either I am missing something or you guys are missing something......it is not the TV, it is the antenna! That is why you need the "box" while camping, because you are using an antenna and not cable. You don't need it at home because you are hooked to cable or satellite. If you were still using rabbit ears at home then you would need a box.

RE: What's the deal???

Two things I will not compromise on are a shower/bathroom and I am even O.K. with the sh** and shower combo.
My first 3 campers were all sh**/shower combos. Was ok but I got really tired of it after a while - move everything out, take shower, wipe down eveything, put everything back in. My new 1055 camper has a dry bath and I love it! I decided to go this route since I do spend a lot of time and will be spending more time in the camper. The shower is a decent size, I can even shave my legs in there (sorry guys) and I am 5'10". Just something to think about.

RE: OK honey, We're here... you can come out now...

It's not that far to fall. Imagine how dead you'd be if it were a basement model though.
Happened to me! Stepped out (of a trailer actually) missed the steps (somehow) and broke my ankle a few months back. I laugh about it now, ok I did then too :B

RE: What's the deal???

Hi, I am a female running solo, if you want to copy, copy my rig, I am very happy with it. The truck doesn't even know the camper is on there. I added airbags, rancho shocks and upgraded the tires, they are rated at 3970lbs each. They are big tires so had to add the nerf bars in order to get into the cab!
The camper I love too. Bought it new a year ago. It has great features, very comfortable. Has huge holding tanks (I go out for a few weeks at a time boondocking so this is great). This is my second new Lance, I wouldn't own anything else, never had a problem and they hold their value. My 2 cents, happy trails!

RE: Boondocking for 14 days?

Solar is pricey but IMHO the way to go. I just installed a 55 watt panel and boondocked for 2 weeks, never started my genny once! I love the solar, it charges all day (I do have 2 12 Volt batteries) while I am out (even in cloudy weather) and I have all the "power" I need at night.

RE: steps / stairs over trailer hitch?

txtrigger ,here is the link for the cabela step
I have this step, it does help a lot but for me not a final solution. What ever you guys come up with make sure it is stable. I stepped out of a trailer a few months back and missed all the steps and came down on my ankle and broke it. My ankle will never be the same again, so please be careful!

RE: Is it possible....

I was asking because many of the ads I have seen ask for a couple. It is my dream and I do intend to follow it. My daughter leaves for college in August. Now what to do with the house...need prices to come up some then will sell it.

Is it possible....

For a 49 year old single female to do workamping or be a host? I am very handy, fix everything myself. Camping and off roading is my passion. My 2 kids are grown and off on their own so I am a free-bird now.
Thanks!

RE: Lance solar panel

I only have a 55 watt panel on my Lance. I just got back from a 2 week trip (boondocking only) and never started my genny once!
Also, if your Lance is pre-wired then install it yourself. It is sooooo easy! I did it myself (I am female) in less then an hour.
I put my panel in between the air conditioner and the forward hatch so it is wind blocked and I used heavy duty 2 sided tape. That panel is not going anywhere!

RE: Tuner or no tuner to adjust for tire size/performance?

Get a Smarty from Mads Electronics. It can calibrate the speedo for tire sizes and adds some great power. Best thing it is undetectable by the stealerships StarScan. :C
I second this idea. I bought the smarty sr. love it! After I put the bigger tires on my power went all to hell. Programmed in #1 program and got all the power I need! It also saves the factory settings so you can put it back to factory in less then 2 minutes. And yes, it also recal'd the speedo for the tires.

RE: Solar Install Update...

What you have written is exactly as the wiring should be. Both the solar panels AND the batteries must be connected to the battery charge controller.
Open up your battery charge controller. Likely where to connect the solar panels incoming current and where to connect the batteries with outgoing current will be clear.
George
Yes that much I know. My dilemma is that the wires in the camper are on opposite sides of the camper. Guess I need to run wire around inside the camper. Not sure why Lance would do that, doesn't make sense to me.
Nobody else has encountered this?

Solar Install Update...

Ok I got this sort of figured out...the wire coming from the panel on the roof is looped in the galley. I just need to cut that and attach them to my controller.
Problem...I can't tell which side goes to the battery, I am thinking the right side since my batteries are to the right looking at the picture. I also found some masking tape wrapped on those wires so don't know if that is a clue? The wires are all wrapped below so I can't tell what direction they go in.
Anybody have any ideas?? I don't have a meter. And what if I hook them up wrong, I do have a 50/50 chance.

RE: Installing a solar panel on my Lance

"Solar Ready" typically means that the wires needed to connect the panel to a solar charge controller are installed during manufacture. You will need to locate where they stashed those wires inside your camper, because they aren't hooked to anything right now. Having the wires pre-run is a help, but it's not quite plug and play.
:):)
I located the wires behind the battery compartment. I just need to add a fuse and connect them to the battery.
The panel I am getting is a small 12" x 12" panel being given to me by a friend and won't really need a controller.

RE: Installing a solar panel on my Lance

Why dont you buy or build cross members for your roof rack . Thule or yakima racks offer cross bars . Just mount the solar panel to the cross bars . That will give you alot of clearance beneath the panel for air flow .
This is exactly what I was thinking about doing. I like this idea. Anybody here done this? Pix?

Installing a solar panel on my Lance

So it appears my Lance is solar ready. Looks like I just plug panel into connector on roof. My question is securing the panel. I don't really want to put holes in the roof. Any other ideas?
Thanks!
