RE: A/C in tent trailer

It is fairly easy to get in high 70s anyway. You can either close off your bunks. (Which I do not because I like my sleeping area cool). Or you can get a custom made bunk cover at popup gizmos They can be ordered right on the website. They have a flowchart with thousands of popups listed. Choose your PUP and model. Spend that money. No I do not have them. The places we go usually has plenty of shade. and even last summer on our 115 degree days. My A/C kept our PUP down to mid 80s in heat of afternoon, down to low 70s after sundown. I did go inside a PUP that day (that had the bunk covers) and his was at least 5 degrees cooler.

RE: Front Axle Hub temperature higher than rear axle

I would say it is either the operation of the brakes or the grease in the axle bearings. My real guess is the front brakes are either working harder,or they are hanging up a bit.

RE: why would you do that?

I will add another reason to this list. Personally, I just really relax and loosen up in the shower (NOT LIKE THAT-SHAME ON YOU)! What I mean is, my muscles really loosen up and my whole body stops hurting in the shower. So my showers tend to be l-o-n-g. At home anyway. When Im out. I have a tendency to take my showers late night. #1 because the temps outside are cooler. #2 I can take a 30 min. shower and "know" that nobody else is waiting for me to get out.

RE: DirecTV Hint

That is the first thing I did when I went from "total SD" to HD on Direct. I "unhid" all channels. Mainly because I dont really like side/top/bottom bars on my screen. (I realize some shows you just cant avoid them, unless you change zoom to either 2X or 4X). Sometimes an older show shown on an HD channel will have bars, switch to that channels SD brother and the bars might go away. (In other words it will fill the entire screen).

RE: trailer being pushed around by wind

even a class "A" MH is a handful in a stiff cross wind. When I had TTs, they were a hard pull in a cross wind. Now pulling a PUP with a mid size SUV (Jeep GC), in a hard wind, it can be a force. In a nutshell, a cross wind is going to cause some moving around, even if you are driving your little DD car or truck empty.

RE: Straighttalk transition recipe help

go to the straighttalk website. It has an option right there to switch from a straighttalk phone to another straighttalk phone. You can keep your minutes/time/text/DATA/AND your phone number. It is fairly easy, and my new phone was working within an hour.

RE: Need my fiver moved

Go to the new CG as mentioned, or if you gathered any friends at the old place. You might also check out a local RV dealership.

RE: COPYING C.D.' s

This may be harder to do if you are using Windows 7. Even in WMP I cant seem to "rip" using my Windows 7. I have to dust off my old XP machine to do that. I could be missing something though. I have no trouble with XP though.

RE: weight distribution bar came off

I would say you are on to something. Those bars were not designed for tight turns. Actually you are supposed to take them off when it is time to maneuver into the campsite. Most people dont do this, and most never have any problems, but you are supposed to.

RE: Sprinter service???

Well I know when Diamler (Benz) owned Chrysler, there were a very limited number of Sprinters sold with the Dodge name. I think most were sold as empty cargo type vans, either way it is a Sprinter under all those Dodge badges. (We do have a delivery driver that visits our business nearly everyday with a Dodge Sprinter). I think I would contact any local Dodge dealer and just check with them to see if they can/will service the Sprinters.

RE: Dinghy or dolly blow-out but didn't notice?

a blown tire is not the only thing you may not feel. I drive daily a small car with a very small engine. The car is a pooch at best. I also have a Jeep Grand with a V8. The other day I took off in the Jeep, I guess it did feel a bit slugish, but compared to the car, it felt full of energy. I didnt realize I had a caliper locking up till I saw smoke. Oh yes the stupid TPMS did light up. The TPMS has lit up at least a thousand times before. When it does and I check air pressure, all 4 tires is always good. You tend to not pay attention to the stupid light after so many times of no problem. So NO I dont trust TPMS. Even though it was right that time. It is the only time it has been right.

RE: OTA signal loss during NASCAR race

could it be because a main camera and a few lines came down during the race?

RE: Which trailer hitch Curt or Drawtite...but there is a catch

Never had a Curt. Cant answer for them. Drawtite has been good for me. The OP didnt mention Reese, but Reese has always been good for me too. I have a "Hidden Hitch" on my Jeep right now and I hate it. The opening is just a fuzzy bit too big. The bar just bangs and bounces around in there. Very annoying. I even wrapped a layer of black tape around the bar to tighten it up. Helped some, but I still feel loose and slop at stops/starts. Stay away from Hidden Hitch. As I said I have used Drawtite and reese with great satisfaction. Unfamiliar with Curt.

RE: How is your weekend?

I was just complaining that I have been basically laid off for about 6 weeks now, and this is the first year we just havent had the financial support to go out for MMD WKND. After looking at those pics. My house looks rather nice right now. I sure do feel sorry for those folks. As mentioned-no trucks. Im guessing that everybody escaped BEFORE the trailers became boats. Trailers can be replaced, people can not. Thank You Dear Jesus, for the safety of those folks.

RE: what clutch to put in my dodge?

Is the Missouri Mule clutch just for Cummins? My brother (a transporter) now has 385,000 miles on his Cummins/6 speed/ Mo Mule clutch combo. They just flat out last.

RE: Whats in your camping tool bucket?

A very basic tool set for me, and tire changing tools. We are just weekend campers. I have found in the past that almost anything "minor" can be fixed at the CG with a very minor set of tools. Anything that those tools can not fix, I will take the trailer home and fix there. Anything that I can not fix at home---well that is why they have service dealers.

RE: Cleaning the Gray water sensors?

Well I used to use a bag of ice in the black tank just before hitting the road. It always worked great. The OP here said he is having problem with Grey tank. I bet ICE would be tough to push down the kitchen sink drain. I think it was a greay water cleaning agent by "Thetford" that I used a long time ago. It worked. Im just not positive it was a Thetford" product. I would search for a good grey water tank cleaning agent. They should probably all do OK. I would think.

RE: Camping World, Nashville, TN

I went to CW in Springfield, Mo. a few months back. I was looking for 2 specific items that I did see on the CW website. (Yes I know several items "anywhere" are only available online these days). I told the lady exactly what I was looking for. (Well the first item anyway). She looked the building over, even in back, no luck. Then she apoligized and asked if there was something else. When I said yes, we started discussing the "use" of product #2. She then said, "that sounds pretty pop up specific" I said yes I own a pop up. She said, "well we dont usually have many things that cater to that crowd". She told me that Walmart is generally better suited for those who generally fall in to the CHEAP category. That was my first and my last visit to that CW. Incidentally I have only been inside 2 CW stores. Nashville, Tn. and now Springfield, Mo. The lady might be right. Walmart at least does try to help me find items. Even if they are for the CHEAP people.
