you can buy roof edging...it is aluminum,slightly curved angle from most rv places.can be found in up to 20ft lenghts...then you could put butlye tape under it for a positive seal,plus put eternabond over it.

if its aluminum sided its not too bad....just remember lots of pics(to share w/ us:)..)and lots of meaurements before removal of anything...takes some time,but not difficult and no real special tools required.A covered work area is always a plus.feal free to pm me w any questions.i have rebuilt a couple,myself.

welcome....rebuilding is time consuming,but is a relaxing task,if you like hands on fixes.i have rebuilt 2 so far....best part is using something that you were able to resurect back...i have lots of pics of my last rebuild....good luck and just make it fun and not a chore....

look at any tags on appliances...should have mfg dates on them...will give a close guess.pics would be good too.

just do this....rear window mount type...made by ge...travel cool...mostly plastic,ship weight was 17lbs. 110 volt.

How do you put it back on? I'ver pulled back small sections from time it time to work on things and I can never get the staples back in.
Invest in an air staple gun.....trust me you will need it. An electric one might work, but I already had an air compressor, so I bought a Bostitch stapler when I rebuilt the S&S. I found that some of the aluminum panels at the bottom were beyond repair. While the origanal were available, polished aluminum diamond plate is cheaper to buy in 4x8 sheets. Here is my rebuild....S&S rebuild.....hope this helps. Take your time and be OCD on the repairs, and your TC should last for many more decades.

your right jimnlin been awhile...sideing does go on from top to bottom and removes bottom to top....each joint seals the staples...

remove mouldings and windows,vents,clean off all butly tape/putty, ect. start at the top and work to bottom.each section is stapled so requires entire panel your working on be removed to reinstall it right.be careful removing staples so dont tear the thin metal or kink it....really easy and allows resealing all seams when reinstalling.

i had my tractor and generator gas tanks emptied twice(about 30 gallons)...i took a 5 gallon jug and put a concoction of diesel,used motor oil and just enough gas to make it smell nice,put it in a convienent spot....found the truck about 1/4 mile up from my house...called the sheriff and they took the truck and had a talk w/ the kids parents...hasn't happened since...I didn't press charges,but parents payed for all the gas their kid stole.

you may be able to fasten a flat bar stock,slightly bent outward,to the bracket using two of the holes and some screws.once it moves it doesn't take a lot to hold it.just be careful and try to protect roof if it comes loose while you are fastening it.a piece of thin wood will work between bracket and roof for protection till your finished.

that is a heco lift system....the spring tension is created by a torsion bar located inside the horizontal tubes.you will need to remove and repair wood damage before a proper fix can be made.... i have done a couple of these.check out my profile threads...

have you removed the outer gutter/trim and replaced the butlye tape?...in my experience,once they start to leak under it thats the best way to fix it.about the only way could be coming in around the edge and corners...plus while it is off,check for cracks in metal that may be hidden by the gutter/trim,especially around the top front corners.be sure to remove all the old butyle tape.when reattaching tighten screws so that the butyle tape oozes some out the sides and then use a wooden spatula to remove excess and force extra in around any small gaps.then cover each screw head with a good sealant.

tear it down and rebuild it...its not hard,just time consuming and easier if you have a place to work inside.I rebuilt my jayco from the floor up,including the roof(pop-top).I have a few links on here for it.You can pm me.

i had a sunlite pop-top that was designed for rangers and s-10 small trucks.It was only 650lbs empty.fully loaded it was 1100lbs.was only 6.5' wide and just under 7' long.still had dinette,sink,stove,heat and 10 gallon fresh water,ice box,a/c,no bath,just porta-pot.Was a bit cramped,but usuable.

the person i got it from was using it on his nissan frontier(2004),barely squatted it w/ stock suspension.
