RE: Replacing A/C seal

No torque spec, it's the amount of compression of the gasket. IIRC it's 60% of the free height. But check the instructions as the amount varies by manufacturer.

RE: Backing up your pop-up !

The shorter the distance from the ball/coupler to the trailer axle the less input is needed for an amount of correction. I drove tractor trailers and could put a 40 footer in a slot with 6 inches of clearance, My PU took hours of practice each spring to get so I could back it up.

RE: Repairing Cracked AC Covers

One note if they are Coleman units. Their covers are prone to cracking and really need reinforcement. Pop Up Gizmo's makes a brace that stops the cracking. Even the newer "redesigned" covers still crack.

RE: amps vs watts vs 12V

An old axium used by boaters/sailers is to divide your RC by 2.4 to get the actual amps usable till the battery is 50% discharged. So (205/2.4) gives apx 85 amps usable until you are at the recommended 50% discharge level. And like smkettner said any 120 volt inverter draw is 10 times the 12 volt battery draw

RE: Furnace Problem

My money's on the galley switch. They are used to prevent the ceiling lights from going on with the roof closed. Depending on the camper many other things, like your furnace (which is totally 12 volt), can be wired into the curcuit. I'm not familiar where the galley switch is located in the Palaminos. Common locations are between the top and bottom of a a flip over/fold level galley, behind a plate that closes the switch when a bunk end is completely pulled out, or on the lip on the box where it's opened when the roof is raised.

RE: oil filter wont budge

One important thing to remember once you do get the old filter off, make sure the gasket comes off. Many times the rubber gasket comes loose from the filter and sticks to the motor. Another reason to oil the gasket.

RE: Two-Inch receiver hitch on back of folding camper trailer

Before you start get a true scale weight on the tounge weight and total trailer weight. As the receiver, rack, and bikes will affect the tongue weight, usually to the point of making the trailer untowable due to sway induced by the new too low tongue weight. You need 10% minimum to keep the trailer tracking.

RE: Need a good brake controller for an 07 fleetwood westlake

Brake controllers are no place to cheap out. Stick with Tekonsha P series controllers. The P3 is top of the line at apx $140, the Prodigy which can be for around on sale for less than $100, and the basic Primus for around $70.

RE: 2005 Fleetwood Single Axle Flip

No you do not rotate the axle. You need to purchase new spring seats to mount the springs on top of the axle in it's current orientation. Weither or not you can see it the axle has a bend/camber that if you rotate the axle it will cause tire wear.

RE: Low gas flow

The only options left are either a bad regulator limiting the volume, a bad acme nut that can also limit volume, or insufficient tubing. What's the outside diameter of the tubing, should be 1/2" or larger; which would be 3/8" inside diameter. With that many appliances I would really like to see 1/2" inside/5/8 outside diameter.

RE: Low gas flow

Then it's either a crimped line or a bad quick connector. Finding a crimp can be a real pain depending on how they route the line.

RE: Low gas flow

The regulator controls not only presure but maximum volume as well. It will show the pressure as fine until it's volume limitation is neared or hit and then the pressure drops. Unfortunately there's no adjustment for volume only pressure.

RE: Low gas flow

Odds are it's the regulator. They are supose to feed appliances totaling 80K BTU. The same as the Acme nut connection to the tank.

RE: Who has made their own motorhome?

Ex FIL made at least 3 out of old mail trucks. And he had a neighbor that had the "keep up with the Jones" problem. So when Art made a new van Louie had to make a new one as well. My favorite was his toy hauler that you could put 4 snow mobiles in and the racks converted to bunks when the snow machines where out. One had a salvaged cassette toilet and shower from an old pop up camper.
