RE: Who can be the last poster?

I've been busy. Took the wheels off the camper to have metal valve stems put on for the TSMS I have. Uninstalled a gun safe in my house to move it over to make room for the second safe and anchored both of them down. And now... I'm last.

I was gonna be nice and let you keep last for a while longer, but I'm not nice.

RE: Who can be the last poster?

For some reason I was no longer subscribed to this thread. No wonder I was getting left behind.

RE: Who can be the last poster?

I see the interest in this thread is dying off. Maybe I'll be last for a while.

RE: Who can be the last poster?

We were camping last June and a storm rolled through. We were away from the camper at the time and when we came back, we saw a branch on the ground near the camper. The base of it was about wrist size in diameter. Thought we dodged a bullet and thought it missed the camper. In late July we were going again and wanted to wash it before we went and when I got up on the roof, saw a hole in the roof material near the antenna. The camper had sat through several good frog choker storms between the June trip and when I saw it. Went to the campground anyhow and bout a roll of Eternabond tape to fix it. Roof decking was wet so I cut it back to dry it out. 6 feet forward and 6 feet aft of the hole, the decking was wet. I glued the material down after it dried and sealed the cuts with the tape. Guess the tape didn't seal as well as I thought because when I went to remove the perishable stuff during the November winterizing, noticed a puddle on the floor under the antenna penetration. Removed the interior parts for the antenna and the roof decking was wet. So bottom line is either the seams where I taped leak, or the roof was never dried enough and there's still trapped water in it. Either way, I'm not screwing with it and gonna let the professionals deal with it.

RE: Who can be the last poster?

It's just cold here. I think they said a chance for flurries tomorrow, but no accumulation. Good, I have to use the snow thrower to dig the camper out. Have to take it to Elkhart, IN later to replace the roof.

RE: Who can be the last poster?

I heard we are supposed to be getting about 16" between now and Wednesday. Just hope it doesn't dump a lot in a short period so the plows can keep up.

RE: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos

Ratcheting tie-downs - especially in open trailers: For the last few 'clicks' when tightening down on the ratchet, capture the end of the tie-down strap. Will prevent end from fraying and, unless you've got really long straps, hold them pretty much out of the way. My wife sewed the ends into a small loop and I use a small bungie to attach the free ends to either another strap or the anchor point for the strap. Of course this isn't needed when used out of the wind, but on an open trailer keeps them from flapping around.

RE: Who can be the last poster?

47* here in GA,66 for a high today,,,,but on Tuesday high is going to be 34*. Guess winter is here. Come on up here. Daytime high for Monday is supposed to be -12. Add wind chill and it would be -47. I'll understand if you opt to not ride the scooter... I mean, there is a couple of feet of snow here too.
