RE: Lock your gas tank

It was not exactly rationed, but due to the long lines, at least in our area, odd number plates filled up on odd number days and even number on even.
And they limited how much you could buy.

RE: China Bombs Got Me

Reporting a tire failure and any damaged caused by it, in itself, answers nothing.
The accusations far outweigh the known causes of RV trailer tire failures.
Tread separations are high on the list of known failures. However, the cause of the tread separations are not investigated. The most common causes for tread separations are low air pressure - overloading - and excessive speed. If a poster can verify without a doubt that none of those conditions ever existed with their tires than why did they not turn the tire in for expert examination? Until a valid reason for the tread separation is determined the complaint is just another unsubstantiated accusation.
Remember, even though an owner currently maintains their tires within the parameters needed to achieve an expected life expectancy, it may not be attainable. Tire damage is cumulative and unforgiving. Past damage - even though unseen - ultimately takes its toll in the end.
Well I know what my trailer weighs and have the scale tickets to prove it. I don't travel over the tires limits and you will need to take my word on that and finally because. I have a TPMS as I suggested earlier in the thread, I know that the air pressure wasn't low. So that leaves the China bombs as I have not had tire problems since changing to Maxxis tires. But I still say the best money you will ever spend is on a TPMS

RE: Reserve America magazine scam

I guess you missed my RA scam post about a month ago. Call them and get it taken off. Also contact the attorney general for your state. The only way we can defeat these bottom feeders is to bring to the light of day, as they are much like vampires and don't do well in the light. Good luck.
BTW don't listen to the ones who will be here shortly saying its your own fault for not reading and understanding everything on the web page, as they will be the same ones who will be here crying and whining when it happens to them.

RE: Use of Cinder Blocks

I would use 6"by 6" treated wood. If you go to Home Depot you cab buy a length and have them cut it into whatever lengths you need. This stuff will last two lifetimes.

RE: I hate ants!! :-(

If they are the small ants, the terro works well. If large ones I have had good results with Boraxo. Just sprinkle it around and they will carry it home. Problem solved.

RE: Progressive RV Insurance Scam

Tough crowd here Surfride, but I tend to go with you on this one. If its not scamming, it sure is intentionally misleading if it states in the declaration "Replecement value for personal effects, and then in another sections stating a $500 limit. But hey if people here enjoy getting ripped, who am I to complain. So thank you for the heads up.
BTW I think an attorney would have a field day with this one.

RE: DEF, even dumber and blind too.

No harm? Did you pull the fuel tank and drain it?
There has been several reports of people doing that and blowing their brand new Ford diesels up to the tune of 10-15 thousand dollars. No way in heck I would drive it one foot without completely draining the fuel system and starting over if I had done that.
What he said X2
We all know that Diesel Exhaust Fluid is 67.5% water, and 32.5% Urea. Since water is the bulk of the composition on DEF; the areas of concern may be the following: (aside from the corrosivenes we have already highlighted).
1. Injectors may need to be removed / cleaned propertly.
2. All fuel lines, fuel pump, must be propertly flushed and cleaned.
3. Fuel filters must be serviced.
4. Remove the water fuel separator and install new one.
5. Remove and flush all existing fuel from the tank and inspect the tank.
6. Inspect fuel line assembly, fuel vent fittings; and hoses.
7. Address probem right away. DEF sitting in the engine will cause much more damage due to the corrosiveneness of Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF).
Common sense tells me not to start the engine, and drain the tank immediately to avoid any further contamination.

RE: China Bombs Got Me

If I were purchasing a new unit, decent tires with ample ability to carry the weight would have to be part of the deal. And the n before it ever left the lot a TPMS would get installed.

RE: Sealing a leaky seam on my epdm roof.... what should I use?

I really like the Eternabond tape, but this looks like the Dicor would work better. If your not going to fix the damage right away, you really should do all you can to dry the area so more damage or mold wont begin.

RE: "Corps of Engineers" Camgrounds? What's that?

COE (Core of Engineers parks).
When the COE builds a dam or other project they own the resulting lakeshore, Every inch of it. They often set up camp grounds on some of the nicer spots along the lake. These are very well maintained as a general rule, sites are clean and level Usually have electric and water on site (Some do not) and a dump station or 3 in the park.
I've stayed at a few of 'em. Very well impressed.
OH, if you or your significant other has obtained the magic age of 62, or if you qualify for another reason you can get a "pass" (Interagency pass or senior pass) that gets you half off on camping fees too. Even nicer. Same pass works at many other places.. Admision to the Grand Canyon National park for example is 100$ off with the pass... You read that right.. FREE. Pass costs ten bucks.
And that is one time only fee as the card is good for life.
I thought that was such a deal I got one for the wife and myself just in case one of us wanted to camp and the otherperson wasn't available..

RE: Scan Gauge II

If you have an android device such as cell phone, tablet, etc. You may want to look into a bluetooth adapter that plugs into the odbII bus port. Then you can use an app called Torque that allows you to customize as many gauges as you like. The adapter available on Ebay for less than $20 and the Torque app which is $5 and your ready to go.

RE: Towing Shouldn't Be This Difficult - Help Needed

As others stated, get the truck working right first. Although not real bad, the weights you gave indicates more weight on rear axle than front, so drop the hitch down a little then put more tension on the WDH. You need more weight on front but if you just tighten the bars it will put more weight on the front end and also more on the rear axle.:W

RE: looking for switch to change hot water tank to electric

If you determine that yours is setup for gas only operation, for about $75 you can buy a device called a hotrod that will allow it to work in both modes.
