RE: Michigan Trip

Hi there, we live in Traverse City and one of our favorite camp grounds is the Platte River federal camp ground on M22 just north of Frankfort Michigan on Lake Michigan. If you have the Senior pass it is half price. All the state camp grounds are also very nice. Rodgtc

RE: Kubota-Kohler Generator issue

I have the same problem, someone told me the brushes may be dirty or need replacing. I am waiting for a response from this forum on how easy that would be to do. Rodger

Generator brushes

Can you tell me how difficult it would be to change or clean the brushes on my generator? I have done this before with other motors and generaly it is pretty easy. When I start my generator the engine starts but does not produce voltage and when I let go of the button the engine stops. This is intermitten and some times it works fine. I have a 1992 Itasca with a 6500w Onan generator. Thanks Rodger

Toed trailer brakes

I am planning to tow a car dollie that also carries a motorcycle. I was wondering wich brakes to get with the trailer, electric or surge. What are the pros and cons on this subject? I will be pulling the trailer with a Cass A, gas powered motorhome. Thanks Rodger

Onan generator problem

I have a 6.5 Onan generator in a 1992 Itasca. The generator starts right away when I push the button, but will not remain running when I release the button. While I am holding the button it does not seem to produce any AC current. I have checked the oil, what other trouble shooting can I perform to locate the problem. Sometimes if I hold the botton for a minuet or two it will work. Is there a way to check the regulator? Thanks Rodger

Air in water system

How do you folks bleed the air out of the potable water system after storage? The tank has water but the pump will not shut off. Thanks Rodger

Electric hot water

Hi, has anyone heard of an electricl heating unit that you can install in the propane water heater so you don't have to use propane if you are hooked up to AC? Thanks Rodger

RE: Gas Motorhome Horsepower

Thanks for all the great advice. My motorhome is in great shape with new brakes, all fluids changed and new tires. It does have electric fans on the radiator. I like the idea of driving the jeep over the mountain instead of dragging it. I feel better now. Thanks Again Rodger

Gas Motorhome Horsepower

I have a 1992 32' Itasca w/454 cid, it weights 14,000 lb. I am planning a trip out west and was wondering if I was going to have any problem in the mountains? Going up towing a jeep wrangler with four down and a braking system or going down. Any tips would be great. Has anyone done this with the older motorhomes? I would like to be prepared before I get in trouble. Any improvements I can make. Thanks Rodger
