RE: Did the 16" LT Upgrade

What brand of tire did you go with? I did the same thing in 09 with RIBS and love them.

RE: Buying first FW, A/C choices

We added a second air in the bedroom and it makes all the difference in the world.

RE: 2013 Ram 3500 "Beast"

Can you buy the mega cab 3500 dually with an 8' bed? What would the tow rating for a fifth wheel be with that config and 3.73 gears? with 4.10 gears?

RE: towing a 5th wheel with a 3/4 ton......now I will duck!

My current 5er weighs in at 11K and I would not consider towing a heavier trailer with my truck in my sig. Next truck will be a 3500 prolly a dually.

RE: Rhino RV Roof - Has anyone done this yet?

I would think it would be durable but heavy...

RE: 15" to 16" conversion

Best thing I have done for our RV is to make the change from 15" to 16" with Ribs. X2

RE: Tire blowout on 5er

I would go with XPS Ribs on any 6K or less axle with 16" tires. Period. For life. Like every trailer I own and I own 5 trailers. Ok maybe not on my rack n roll Kayak trailer. but every other trailer. Good luck with the trailer and Sandy!

Had a problem this past trip and never had it before...

Camped in our favorite campground in a spot we have camped in before. Had a Bluejay peck at our windows the entire week. She pooped all over the slideouts and walls. I tried to spray it with water. I tried to put pictures of scary faces drawn by my 5 year old in the windows. Neither idea worked. I was just wondering if anyone has ever had this happen and what they did to resolve it. I have heard that the fake owls work and don't work. Thanks for you responses.

RE: 16'' tires

XPS Ribs are the answer to the china bombs. Expensive but you get what you pay for.

RE: Michelin tires

XPS Ribs are an outstanding tire. No problems whatsoever. The next time I have to buy truck tires, they will be ribs. Sometimes, you get what you pay for. Take care!

RE: Tire Recommendation

XPS ribs are a great quality tire. Expensive but worth every penny in piece of mind.

RE: Any one use a hitch rack On the Truck for Genset?

Quick Reply is that there is not enough room. I looked at mine during a tight turn and it was obvious. Put on the front of the truck or the rear of the RV.

RE: camper fire

Sorry for your loss. It also sad that Good Sam did not come through for you. You pay and pay and then when it comes time that you need them, they drop the ball. It should not take posting on a forum and having a "suit" see it to get good customer service. I will be watching this thread to see the outcome. I hope you are able to get back on the road soon and enjoy your trip.

Black Max Honda Generator Died

I have a 7000watt Black Max generator that I use for welding and my RV from time to time. Worked fine for years then died suddenly. Took it to a dealer and he told me it needs a whole new Alternator($200) plus installation($150). The generator only has 29 hours on it. Bought it brand new at Home Depot and it was 1K. I did a bunch of reading on the internet and checked the voltage across the brushes (24.5 volts) and confirmed that it needs a whole new alternator (not just a automatic voltage regulator - AVR). Parts are hard to find online and if I ordered the part online it was $300 plus $100 to ship with me putting it in. My question is should I fix it? Seems like I would be throwing good money after bad. Pretty disappointing that it failed after just 29 hours. Should I sell it for parts (Honda GX390) and cut my losses and just get a better generator? Would someone buy it off of me? I am looking at the Honda EU6500is. I have two 2000i and love them but I sometimes need more power. If I could get some money out of the Black Max then I could maybe swing the 6500is. Thanks for reading and your insight.
