RE: Hanging items on an RV Door

I hate making any permanent modification (like drilling holes) if I can help it. I got 4 clear plastic towel hanger-hook-things from walmart that just slip over the top edge of the door.

RE: Battery charging

I have left my TT plugged in for the past 3 years at home (except when travelling/camping of course), you have to keep up with the water in the battery.

RE: great cooler but a question also

We wash and re-use a clear plastic juice container that fits the rack in the fridge door. That's how we carry milk with us. I guess it's about a half a gallon size.

RE: Dry camping, battery idea?

I don't dry camp enough to justify spending money on mods, so this is what we do for a few days at the beach: Use jugs of water for flushing to avoid running the pump. Also you can fill your tea kettle from the fresh water tank drain outside. I don't use the 12V lights. I have 2 little $5 LED camping lanterns that run off of AA batteries. If the trailer battery runs down enough for the fridge to quit I will use the jumper cables and the van to pump it up. In case of complete 12V system failure, I carry a cooler to save the fridge food.

RE: On the road-no advance planning

Yes, this past spring break 2 weeks ago. When we decided we could go it was way too late for reservations anywhere. So we were prepared for dry camping.

RE: How long can you boondock?

Completely stock trailer with its small tanks and single battery, 2 people, 2 days.

RE: fastening items to RV walls

What you may want is a "hollow wall anchor"? Not the plastic-insert kind, but the collapsing metal kind (sort of like a toggle bolt).

RE: Source of Water

I'm thinking that there is a leak where the vent-to-roof pipe connects to the top of the gray tank. So when the nearly-full gray tank was tilted, it started leaking out the top. I found that I had this type leak when I overfilled the gray tank and sudsy gray water began dripping out of the port side aft corner of the trailer. Nuts. I'm not fixing it, too much trouble. I'm just making sure I don't overfill the tank anymore.

RE: Looking for A Place To Overnighr

I-35 from just south of Waco to around the Hillsboro split can be iffy, lots of construction. You might find yourself still stuck in traffic at your 3-hour mark. I recently drove from Centex to Oklahoma and went way east around Dallas, much more relaxing.
