RE: Too Early to Start Thinking???

The DW and I had started dreaming, planning and researching in about the year 2000. Spring of 2014 is our launch date. It has been a blast doing all of the planning and dreaming.
The house goes on the market soon and then after that we will buy the DP and nothing can hold us back :C
Good luck and make sure you have throughout the entire process.

RE: The Rally in Syracuse

Thank you for the responses,
If this is anything similar to the Daytona Rally it sounds like it will be great.

Tiffin Alegro Bus and Zeyphyr
Country Coach Intrigue
Thank you for your input,

The Rally in Syracuse

Hello everyone,
My wife and I are planning on launching to a full time lifestyle in 2014 and we are trying to learn everything we can about RVing, DP, and the lifestyle. We would like to go the the Camping World/Good Sam "The Rally" in Syracuse, NY in June if the workshops and education seminars are worthwhile. We are also in shopping mode for a large DP. If they have RVs to see, that would also be an attraction.
If anyone has been to one of these in the past or knows anything about this rally specifically, are they worth the effort? We live in Vermont so it not to far a drive.
Thanks for your input,
Stuart and Leslie

RE: Help with choice of fulltime DP

Thanks for such great insight. I also like the idea of the steel structure of the Monaco.
crickeydog, I am looking at these large sizes due in large part to the information on this forum. My wife and I critically looked at the minimum size and decided 40 foot was the minimum. As it appears we would have the same issues with camp grounds with a 40 foot and 45 foot so we decide bigger was better. It would give us more space for living and storage, more ccc and tag axle. Our intended use is for fulltime so every inch of space will be welcome.
I can't wait to start test driving these to see what I think. I have not driven one of these yet.
Best,
Stuart

Help with choice of fulltime DP

Hello everyone,
My DW and I are planning on going fulltime in spring of 2014 and need to start the serious phase of shopping for the motorhome. I would like to get your input on a few choices. For those of you who have purchased or considered any of these below, what were the deciding features, factors that led to your choices, the more specific and detail the better. I am also interested in hearing what you may have not liked about the other motorhomes you looked at that you did not choose any why you steered away from these. It would also be great to know if you are happy with your purchase or if you wished you made another choice.
We are looking at 42 to 45 ft DP in the years of 2008 to 2010. So far our choices in no particular order are:
Newmar Mountain Aire
Monaco Dynasty (and sisters, Beaver, Holiday Rambler)
American Coach Eagle
Tiffin Zephyr
I am open to others but these have grabbed our interest.
Thanks for any information,
Stuart and Leslie

RE: Side hall-enclosed bathroom vs. Center hall bath

Thank you all for some great food for thought.it really comes down to determining our priorities for how we will intend to use the coach. FOR 99 percent of the time it will be just the wife & myself, rarely will we have overnight guests.

Side hall-enclosed bathroom vs. Center hall bath

Hello everyone again,
This is a followup question I recently posted about the front kitchen. I have noticed that many 42 to 45 food DP with the front kitchen also have an enclosed bathroom with a side walkway/hall.
I would like to hear anyone's input on what you like or dislike about the side hall bathroom vs. the center hall bathroom floor-plan.
Thanks again for all your great input,
Stuart and Leslie

RE: The good the bad and ugly of front kitchen floorplan

Thank you all for the insight. I can more clearly see why each like the floor-plan they chose.

The good the bad and ugly of front kitchen floorplan

Hello everyone,
My wife and I are one year away from purchasing a 42 to 45 foot DP for fulltiming. We have been lurking for years and our time is approaching fast and will be doing much more serious research now.
We would like to hear what anyone has to say about the front kitchen floor plan. There seem to be some nice advantages however some serious downsides as well.
Thank you for your input.
