I don't like Flying "J" they have only pre-pay pumps I hate prepay as it is an inconvenience to me when I want to buy something in the store.I much prefer prepay pumps as I get 5% of every dollar back when I use my PenFed Visa Platinum Rewards Card at the pumps! If I pay in the store, I only get 1% back. When I'm purchasing $250 worth of diesel, that 5% on every dollar adds up!

This topic has been discussed several times. There are about 3 states that do this. The over the road trucks pay a different tax rate, which is lower that what you pay at the RV pumps. Indiana is one of those states. I think Arizona is another if I remember correctly. It helps keep your grocery bill down:W!!!

National Highway Transportation Safety Admin has 2 complaints on the them, but not recalls. http://www.safercar.gov/. You'll have to search yourself, as they do not let me post results.

Nothing worse than driving across Maine.... Seeing a sign that says 2 miles to Mexico!
And every year we drive south in PA and pass Mars and Moon. This year we noticed we passed Houston... :?There's a Mexico and Cuba in NYS.

Workhorse W-22 chassis has Stainless Steel Wheel Liners
and the
Workhorse W-24 chassis has Polished Aluminum Wheels.
the wheel linerss you just pull two of the nut covers off and the liner should slip right off.
The Aluminum Wheels, if you don't have a socket big enough, you don't have a rachet big enough!! But the hub cover should turn off. Depends on how it is set up.

Its a Ford F53 frame and their brochure says 17,000 GVWR and GCWR is 25,000 so believe up to 8000 lbs available before exceeding the GCWR, and that assumes I don't go over 17,000 with the coach. The motorhome frame is really solid, the way they added the hitch to it isn't up to the quality and strength of the motor home frame, hence would need to change the hitch and the way it is attached.But how much weight did the final manufacturer (the coach builder) add to that frame. You have to go by the weight the coach builder says, not the chassis builder. There are motorhomes out there that are overweight when they leave the assembly line!!!

I understand this forum is full of safety police and that is a good thing but not always practical.
You can call it "safety police", but I see it as looking out for our fellow RVers and the motoring public in general. I had to put up with the real "safety police", aka DOT, PUC, and various other police agencies, as a over the road CDL driver for years. They were looking out for my safety, and the safety of the general public. They were not working against me, and I don't see how one around here can think other RVers are working against them. I see very knowledgeable people wanting to help.
And you mention the pratical side of it. Well I know that if I modify a commercial trailer used under DOT regulations that it has to go back to the manufacturer for a new manufacturer's modification sticker before it can be legally ran on the highways. Practical is not always safe!

I too am waiting to hear what you do. We have a 82 Pace Arrow 30 fter and thought it had a class 3 so we bought a KarKatty SS to tow our 99 Deville Concours. The dealer we bought the karkatty from hooked it up to the MH the first time to show us how to do it and nothing was said about the right size receiver. Anyhow we have towed the caddy several times with no problems at all can't even tell shes back there. After learning that it is a class 2 we took it to our shop we go to and had them throw a few extra welds on the receiver. I will get it loaded up and take it to the scales and see what is going on. I hope after spending all the monies to have a toad (our caddie) I hope it works out in our favor.With a curb weight of 4012 lbs. plus what ever your hauling in it, on the KarKatty at 615 lbs, with a total towed vehicle weight – 4,700 lbs, I sure some day you will end up leaving the dolly and Deville at a red light or stop sign. That class 2 hitch is still only rated at 3500 lbs even with the extra welds.

With on hint what you are working on, it is kind of hard to even guess. If it is the solenoid that is hung up, then a tap with a hammer will usually make it let go.

Thanks for the tip! Now I just need to figure out where the starter is. I've heard this from one other place in my research on this problem. I'm not too familiar with working on diesel engines though, but I'll take a look tomorrow.

Matt was wondering what you are working on. I'm guessing that it is a 2012 Fleetwood Discovery 40G because it is what is listed in your profile, but I could be groping in the dark here. You might have brought something else to play with. Am also guessing that we are talking about a Cummins, but no idea what model? If it is the 2012 Fleetwood, isn't it under warranty???
And if you don't know where the starter is on a Cummins, you should not be tearing into that engine!
