Hi All, I have been getting conflicting information on running the fridge on propane while traveling down the road. My understanding has always been it is illegal to do so. So I am asking you for some input here. Do you run your fridge on progane or not while driving? Our camper had the 12V option but our fifth wheel does not so I have been carrying all perishable goods in a 12 volt fridge in the truck while traveling during the day. This works pretty good but thought I would ask the experts " all the fulltimers" on this site. Thanks a bunch for your help!

Been full timing for a year and a half now and always run my fridge on propane while traveling. Never had a problem. I've seen people smoking while pumping gas and that's alot closer to the pump than my fridge ever gets to the pump. Don't know about any one else but I like to keep my food fresh in my home. Never got a citation for it either.

Just turn the fridge off when you're fueling...please. I hate the smell of fried people.

Always! That's what it's designed for. And I've never heard of it being illegal, except when traveling through tunnels. Then, you're required to shut it off before entering.
