Ok Genny heads, What is your honest opinion on these 2 units? Before I go spending like a drunk sailor I want some real world opinions. And no, I don't want the 2 honda 2000's! (the add-on gas tank for longer run time and the extra cost of the adapter kit seem like a hassle and expense, more giration for the same amperation!) 3000's speak out. BEGIN!

I had first saw a Honda next to us at a NASCAR race. Got to be friends with them and still see them now and then. I did some checking after that and the Yamaha cost about $200 less at the time, 2004. It also came with wheels and the RV adaptor. It cost me 1579.99 and for 200 more could have got the boost model with a 500 watt short boost. I havn't regreted buying this on yet.

Never a minutes trouble. I always siphon what gas I can out and run it empty, then change the oil, less than a quart, after every trip. It'll run over 12 hrs on a tank, holds 3.4 gal.

My Bro-n-law bought the boost model a year ago because of being around mine. All being equal I'd go by price, consider the wheels, adaptor, shipping and taxes. I think both of them are good units.

Hi,

I only saw the Honda 3000 in the showroom, it looked nice but I don't have any experience with it. I have a Yamaha 3000ISEB and I love it. It was pricy, but is a beautifully built machine that looks like it was made well and made to last. I hope so anyway! You can get the Yamaha 3000 with out without the boost mode depending on what your power requirements are...What do you plan to use it for?

Honda EU3000is works great, especially with the remote control. It needs wheels; I designed a doodad & installed rear wheels. It also needs handles. I haven't figured out how to do that yet.

I have seen (But not used) both, The Yahama seemed to me to be just slightly less noisy for the same load and from what I'm lead to believe the unit may be better built (By the way lab tests showed 2db diff, which means my preceptions are good cause 3 is supposed to be the least you can notice when it comes to difference)

Such things as better bearings and materials in construction, Of course that was from a salesman so you have to take it with a proper hunk of sodium chloride.

I have had the yamaha 3000 with boost since 2005 and it has been a great machine. Itis really quiet, has wheels, and looks good too. The only negative thing I would say about it is that it is a bit on the heavy side (something like 165 pounds dry) but I guess most 3000 watt units are going to be heavy.

I have a high hour 3 year old Yamaha 3000. No problems ever. But I don't think you would go wrong with a Honda product either.

I love my Yamaha 3000sbi as well. I have yet to need the full 3000 watts since we camp at the Coast and do not need the AC so I am thinking of selling the 3000 and getting the 2400 to save my bad back.
The only drawback, at least for me, will be no electric start on the 2400. I can still use the DW for the remote control start!

I just hooked up our new Yamaha EF3000iSEB. I fired up the 15K BTU AC, Microwave, both TVs and lots of lights and the convertor was charging at 14.4V. The AMP draw was 29.5A but the boost feature wasn't needed. I'm really happy with it. We will do lots of dry camping.

................You're leaving OUT the best inverter genny , that being the Subaru and it's rated at 4.3 kw and 3.8kw constant power output . Weight wise it's only 163 pounds so it's no heavier than the Honda or Yammer . jf
