Does anyone really know or understand this surround sound? It has the 5 speakers and 2 subwoofers. It has the controls on the dash to change it from radio to tv. However, the volume is controlled by the tv when in tv mode, and the radio when in radio mode. What do I actually have? I have read through the manual, but don't really see anything there.

There were some posts recently on the Winnebago Owners Forum at IRV2.com regarding surround sound. I think you will find your answer there. Don't know if forum rules allow me to provide a link to another forum...so Moderator, please let me know if this is now allowed. Here's the link to the thread...Surround Sound.

Actually you have an amplifier. The DHS Mobile System is not a true 5.1 surround sound system. Winnebago discontinued using the DHS system in 2006 and went to a Sony true 5.1 home system.

"The Mobile Theatre System with QSurround, available exclusively from RiverPark, is the only home theater system designed and engineered specifically for RV’s. The amplifier design utilizes active frequency equalization to optimize performance from stylish cube speakers, including a center channel, and hide away sub-woofers. A Q-Surround processor decodes stereo matrix material to deliver dynamic cabin filling home theater sound unrivaled in the industry."

"System Features & Benefits"

• DHS designed active frequency equalization compensates for the
interior of the vehicle

• System design utilizes proprietary computer software and engineering
techniques

• Integral source selector allows for input from TV/VCR/DVD and dash
radio.

• DHS internal circuitry prevents distortion at high volumes

• All components comply with GM, Ford, and Chrysler quality testing.

Thanks for that info Tom. One other question, if I may. Where is this unit located?

The prints for your Winnebago is on Winnebago's website under parts catalog.

My amplifier is located under the dash on the passenger side. I can reach it and see it if I lie on the floor in front of the passenger seat and look up under the dash with a mirror. This is the area where the passengers feet go.

What year and model is your motorhome??
