Thanks for all the prayers & good wishes for Dan. Dwayne--Thanks so much for "being there" for us again today. Dan (in a moment of awakeness) even said "Dwayne was here for my knee too".
Jenni came and I went home & let dogs out & cleaned & fed horsed & showered. Somehow after just 12 hrs in the hospital I needed it!
I went back into town & the Jenni & I stayed until 11:00. Dan's vital signs are good and his breathing is more relaxed now. The blood loss (which is expected in hip surgery) has slowed. He will have labs in the A.M. to see if he needs another transfusion. Will keep you all posted. Hopefully by tomorrow he'll be awake enough to post or at least read the forums. (He had to have general anestheia instead of the local he had expected because of the longer length of time of the surgery.) Lori
Dan, great to hear you are doing so well. Let me know if you need some good blood, I'm O+ and happy to give you a pint or two! Betsy
Betsy; if you give Dan some of your blood, will he start telling funny jokes like you do?

Just an update on Dan--
His IV went bad and they stopped it & the pain pump and he is now on pain pills and so far doing well. He is up walking with his walker but still needs two people to assist him in & out of bed. Anna & Sarah are being good, no accidents at all and I was gone over 12 hrs. yesterday during his surgery and after. His incision is about 5 inches long & has dissolvable stitches & looks good & clean. The horses haven't escaped the pasture and all is well except the cat walked on my keyboard so I had to try to type this again. . Lori

Good Morning Everyone...
Linda and I talked with Dan this a.m. and he sounded great but wouldn't accept my invitation to go dancing. He thinks they might release him tomorrow.
Linda and I are having a great time going to sewing classes. We spent Thurs. in front of our machines for 8 straight hours without any break. We can say that we were kicked out of JoAnn's. I wanted to spend the night but the instructor wanted to go home as did the staff at JoAnn's. Sure will miss my sewing partner when she goes home. We told Todd he needs to hurry on the new sewing room so Linda and I have more space to work, she needs a bigger sewing area.

I want to thank all of you who came to see me and also those who wrote nice comments on the thread. You all are a great bunch of camp-aholics. If all goes well, I get to go home tomorrow morning hopefully.

Hi Dan, Glad to hear you are up and going. I guarantee if Betsy would have donated some of her blood to you you'd be sitting in a camper right now sipping on some hot coffee in a white bath robe thinking of some FUNNY knee slapping jokes. What would we do without that NUT. Lori, I'll bet that hot shower felt good, nothing like HOME. I'm sure Dan will be very well taken care of. If you need anything give us a ringy dingy.

Had to substitute a sponge bath for a hot shower. Easier than trying to cover the op-site. I am not what you would say moving rapidly, only allowed half pressure on the left leg using a walker. Foundout that they had to give me 2 units of blood. Depending on where it came from I might be able to dance Couldn't dance before.
If anyone get's in the area- the door is always open. Helps eliminate cabin fever.

Hi Dan,
Glad your moving along regardless of the speed.
This off of the Yahoo news about the space shuttle,
"NASA's countdown is going smoothly and even the weather is looking exceptionally good for Monday's space shuttle launch. "
Must be that Ken and Kathy have not crossed into Florida yet.
