I know why Im a helicopter mechanic and not a finish carpenter. My project is nothing compared to mrblaine. But I needed something like it for my 881 the 1181 has all this stuff . I liked the slide pantry and the slide drawers. It was a real PIA to dig up under the dinette for food or what ever . We put some shelves in the what is suppose to be a hanging closest….. in the galley? So when I saw mrblaine work of art I thought hey I mite be able to do that. I started doing the drawers under the dinette. Boy did I have excuses to buy tools who who who ahhh. Datto blade nail gun planer well you get the picture. I learned measure twice cut twice and its still too short. Nail guns are cool, but if you don’t point them right your using sheet metal tools on wood. Datto plade.. practice on scrap wood not you 100.00 poplar boards . Drawers went without too much trouble till the slides finicky little suckers but I did prevail. Next came the month long slide pantry. I was real excited I had my wife varnish it ready set go …..it was 1” to big!!! So back to the garage . But finally it came together making all the slides work was putting it well wasn’t fun. The drawer under the cabnit was fun. But as I worked on it I was really glad I work on helicopters…. Id even go to the dark side and work on stiff wings before I build another. The wife loves it . She want me to make something like it in the bedroom closest …Well see. So enjoy the pics I think next time I mite come out better if I have a cabinet maker make it .Oh wait I hear “you have all the tools to do it!!!!!! We'll see.

I thought there were only about two people on this forum with an 881! Very nice job by the way, i am envious! Questions for you.... where did you attach the the slides for the pantry rack and for the drawer? I see that you used the sides of the cabinet to attach the slide mechanisms for the pantry rack i am just trying to figure out how you did it since that area is so flimsy. Do you have any pictures of your installation you can post?

Helicopter mech. you say...Good job.
I try to make sure theres nothing I want to get to in our wire rack-Its all Margarets...
I really like the drawer underneath the rack, I like it alot.
When MrBlain posted his I really gave some consideration...making that wire thingi more 'me' friendly but talked myself out of it, Then you add a drawer, hmm.

The sliding tops a good one too.
Whats on the second shelf? Looks like its got a hinged side in the pic

I attached the side slides by 2x4 riped then bolted to the bottom with big area washers. A sugggestion from xtrv to cut a plywood to fit the ceiling glue it with groilla glue the attach riped 2X4 worked real good. Yes there a second hinge at one of the shelves it was for cans to slide in straight as you see wife had different ideas if I can get some pics Ill post the frame Bob

When i called the local dealer up to have one ordered they told me Lance had just shut down the production line on the 881. My heart just about stopped. They found us the one we wanted in Denver Colorado so we dealed over the phone and a week later we drove out to Denver and picked it up. You are right about a lot of camper in a short bed truck. Between you AISURFFISH with your generator mod and southerlytide2's pantry upgrade i have my work cut out. I just need that darn Onan to die eventually.
