Hi;

We are living in S California and are planning right now our trip across the States to Atlantic coast. We going to travel in small class C rv, puling
small cargo trailer . We are on limited budget. We want to try to support
our trip by selling on flea markets, we will take some merchandises with us.
Our main business are musical instruments.
If someone on this forum makes living similar way, or knows someone who does, and can recommend good, well established flea markets, swap meets,
we would be very happy and appreciate it a lot. In general, we plan to
travel as close to the coast as possible , Golf of Mexico first, and Atlantic
following .

We are very curious about Georgia, South and North Carolina.
Never have been in these states before and would like to spend
longer time over there .
Can someone please advise, which areas in SC are the best to look for
not expensive camping or even for boon docking . We have solar
units in our rv and we are fine with dry camping .

Every piece of information is going to be appreciated.

regards
eva

Boondocking (not to be confused with blacktop parking) in the east is very limited. Usually restricted to the National and State forestry areas. Coastal areas are very heavily populated and/or subject to ordinances. You'll find more reasonable rates at State Parks and 1/2 price camping clubs like Passport America, all subject to restrictions of course.

If it were me, I would find a good plan B. Having just traveled through FL, GA, SC & NC, I can tell you that flea markets are saturated with veners and product. The venders are getting shopped to death and are delighted to give away a bargin. If they don't cut too good a deal, someone else will.

I don't do flea markets but I do know that around here Daytona and Frontenac (just south of Titusville) have had the same markets open since we moved to this part of the state in 1984.

You might want to check into the "Virginia Highlands Festival", a 3 week antique/craft show in the small historic town of Abingdon, VA. It runs last week of July, 1st 2 weeks of August. Around this area, SW Virginia and NE Tenn, Eastern KY, there are LOTS and LOTS of weeklong festivals that usually have crafts and feature musical instruments. If you would be interested in these areas, PM me and I will try to think up a list of the area ones.

Smiley's Flea Market, just north of Hendersonville, NC, on US 25 about a mile north & east of I-26. It's a pretty big regional one, and Google will find their web site. Open every Sat. & Sunday (maybe Friday?), and they have permanent stores as well that I think are open all week. I don't really know, but suspect you could park there overnight Saturday, and maybe even Friday. There's another smaller one east of here along I-40, but I don't recall exactly where... Nebo, NC? West of Hickory, anyway.
