It sure outta work but I sometimes have problems with photobucket too,
So, I started using Tiny Pic instead.

Here is how to post pictures that are hosted on Photobucket.com (Note: This tutorial assumes you have two windows or tabs open - one for the post and one for Photobucket.Com)
- Open the album that contains the picture.
- Click on the picture
The picture will open in a new window.
- On the right side of the window you should find a menu of links similar to this one.
- Copy the Direct link by clicking on its URL.
- Click in your post window, where you want the picture to be inserted.
Generally, pictures should be inserted at the beginning of a new line.
- Open the message windows Image tool,
- Paste the Direct Link into the URL field.
If the picture is wider than 640 pixels, enter 640 in the Width field. Leave the Height field blank; the display engine will adjust the height to keep the dimensions in proportion.
If the picture is no more than 640 pixels wide, leave the Width and Height fields blank.
Click on the Finished button.
