Anybody put a "Turn Down Tip" on their diesel pick-up in an effort to reduce soot getting on their boat, or ? trailer? If so did it work? Thanks in advance.
My F350 is an auotmatic, the problem is towing for 3.5 hours at 65 mph. When we get to the lake (due to wagon back effect) the boat cover is dirty with exhaust soot. If I tow without the cover on the boat the upholstry and carpet get dirty. Just looking for an improvement.
You could by a gasser...LOL! If you want to talk soot go to larger injectors, then it really comes out....I don't think there is any great mod to really get it out of the way. I only get it on my rear hold down, lucky me!. Have you seen that air deflector that fits on the top of the TC kind of like a set of fins? It helps keep dirt and dust from collecting on the back. Diverting the air down the back might help push it out of the way.
I have a "Turn Down Tip" on my truck. Before the "Turn Down Tip", I would get soot on the corner of my TC, about 12" to 18" up the side. I never really noticed if I got it on the Zuki when towing it. After installing the "Turn Down Tip", I no longer get the soot.
My tip is turned almost straight down, and gets a little soot of the front edge, about 1/2" up the tip. I think I will have to turn it a little to prevent that soot.
Under the right circumstances, I can get a lot of soot. I do have a highly modified fuel system, including injectors.
