Had my wildcat fiver for about 3 years now. Almost all of our camping has been hooked up. I used my water pump when i first got my rv to try it out and when sitting in my driveway but probably haven't had it on in two years.
Just got a generator and want to start boondocking, we spent a day at the beach plugged in with water in the tank. When I turn my water pump on it just stays on. It used to run for a little while, then turn off, then turn back on for a little when you use water. Now it just stays on the whole time. It works, i'm getting water, but it never stops. Also, i think the water pressure isn't as great as it used to be, but i could be wrong about that.
Check for water line leaks. Once the system is full, pressure builds and the pump should be shutting off. If not shutting off it most likely means there is a leak somewhere. Look under the rig for tell-tail signs. Gotta be water coming out somewhere. Outside shower, ice maker, clothes washer, toilet, maybe the pump line under the cabinets, etc.

on my motorhome there was a brass valve that you had to shut off to use city water and not fill the tank. the rubber gasket had a small crack in it and it kept letting water get by back into the tank and the pump would then keep running.

There was some water underneath the water filter but I thought it happened when i changed the filter. Maybe it's a leak. I'll check that first, thanks.

Not necessarily, I'm sure the OP would've said if there were water running out somewhere. More likely the pressure switch is defective.
It doesn't matter to me if you don't own a Mac.
It should matter to YOU that you're still tethered to Microsoft.

Make sure you run ALL the lines, with the water pump..I had the same issue, recently with my "New Rig".after I ran water thru , it stopped acting up, and is fine now .
Maybe some air in the lines??????????? Go figure??

My MH has a two position valve for filling. Turned one way, it fills the tank, and the pump is out of the circuit. The pump will not stop running in that position if turned on.
The other position is what I have labeled "normal" and is used for city water, or the pump.

I second Big Daves reply. Check the fresh water tank fill valve. I sometimes forget to turn the valve back to normal. Pump will run all the time when turned on if valve is not in correct position.

I agree with Big Dave and rvten, normally that will be the problem if you have a city and tank fill valve. You must switch back to city to get proper pump action. Tank fill is just that (fill your tank).
