FOr my 08 Duramax in sig, the mpg is pretty darned accurate, as is the fuel used. Fuel used differences are station related. One that I use routinely is exactly the same. Kind of tells the story on accuracy tolerances at the pump for other stations doesn`t it. But since the truck tells me I`m low on fuel at 18.8 gal used, it quits reading remaining range shortly there after.

The lie-o-meter on my PSD Excursion usually shows about 25 - 27 mpg highway - actual calculated mileage has been in the 22 - 23 mpg range. I have not tried it towing or paid much attention to miles remaining read out, with a 44 gallon tank at 23 mpg she goes a long ways :-)

I have talked to a lot of Dodge owners and you are the first to say it is close to being accurate.
My '07' 2500 Dodge is pretty accurate when towing. I checked it 3 times in our last outing and it was less than .2 every fill up. Hand calculating was always higher MPG. When not towing it's off by .5 or more.
I think it calculates your range based on your current average mileage. So if you have driven 100 miles and are averaging 10 MPG and you have a 30 Gal Tank it will tell you that you can drive another 200 miles. That being said if driving conditions change so will you average mileage, resulting in changing your remaining range.
Not sure how well I explained, I hope this helps.

I have the latest flash which helped some. Can the dealer adjust it?
Dont know about the 08's but on mine all they have to do is plug in the computer go to fuel cap and enter your new fuel capacity. It took me three trys to find a dealer to do it. First one I called said it couldnt be done, but I already knew it could so I called another dealer they said if it wasnt OEM they wouldnt touch it so I called another dealer they said they didnt know how. I told them that I knew how they said bring it in we will fig it out. It was real simple you can also change the tire size so the speedometer reads correct. Go to here
they will know for sure about your year
