So, fellow travelers, tell me about the entrance to the park from Red Rock, PA. State Route 487. Park website directions states that this is a steep road. 18% grade? Is there a decent shoulder? Switchbacks or straight up the hill? Google Maps seems to show a fairly wide two-lane road with some shoulder that goes right on up. Correct? Doable with a truck camper on an F450 diesel dually? What about a Chevy 2500 with a travel trailer? What's the deal?
Thanks.

Fairly straight climb. I have never done it pulling anything but have been up it a time or two over the years. Nice state park with a beautiful hiking trail containing several nice waterfalls.
Years ago we towed a 24' trailer up that hill with an OLD Buick Estate Stationwagon. It had a hugh V8 that we said could pass anything but a gas station. But, we didn't have a transmission cooler...ooops...and overheated half way up. There was enough shoulder to pull over, let her cool down and continue
