I have been using a Pressure Pro system for the last 4 years 4 months and the batteries are failing requiring replacement of the sending units (transmitters). Initially when I bought the system in 05 they claimed they would swap out your dead units for 15.00 each. In the recent past that figure soared to 35.00 per unit with the pressure Pro folks denying they ever offered a 15.00 price for sending unit replacement. I have taken mine out of service and it and all its related parts now reside in the future yard sale bin.

I will say that as long as the batteries held up the unit worked fine. Its that high price for replacements that is the killer after paying 50.00 each for senders (transmitters)when purchased new.

Before my next trip I am going to purchase a Hawkshead system as I can change the batteries myself with their system.

Sounds like a computer mounted on a valve stem that last over four years needs replacing anyway. Sounds like use and toss technology so one can deep up with current technology.

I purchased one from Truck Systems Technologies in April. Within one thousand miles two failed, two thousand miles later the third one failed. They will replace them at no charge but getting that done while traveling is tough unless you have a permanent mail transfer system in place. When I was without the two that failed I had a blowout that did quite a bit of damage to our trailer. Luckily the next two tire failures were on wheels with working sensors. I put this in the MH section because we are in the thinking and looking stages of switching to a MH from the trailer. The trailer was a test to see if we would like traveling all summer. Jury is still out.

I have had the DORAN RV360 since January 2008 and really like it. No problems. Nice to not have to check the tires before each trip.

Went to the DORAN web site to see what was new and saw they have a "Fall back into savings" promotion, $100 off each system.

We have the Pressure Pro system and I wouldn't be without it. It has caught low pressure once or twice when I neglected to check tire pressures for too long of a time.

Just this week it caught my inner rear dual loosing air from a leaking valve stem. Was able to find a spot to pull off the road and GS Road Assistance was great getting us back on the way!

As I said, great insurance!

Ron if you have a digital in cab tire PSI gauge system how does one "neglect" to look at the readout of each tire at least once a day when traveling? I mean it just draws my eyes to the monitor of our system. I have the expected PSI and temp in my head and I see if the readout matches it.

Another vote for TST.

There are 24 hours in every day - it all depends on how you choose to use them.
