I own a 2009 Kodiak 195 expandable by Skamper and I am looking to possibly next year get rid of it (after I pay it down) and get one that is not an expandable. Its a nice camper mind you and I've only had it a year. I've camped three times in it and I can see that the tent ends are going to get on my nerves. Condensation, not holding heat, etc and being hard to close are the primary reasons. I will probably go with something larger since I will probably be getting a larger vehicle next year anyway. (My wife's car is dying and she will get my 04 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0L I6, therefore I will get something else). Are there any credible reviews out there that don't cost anything? I won't be going 5th Wheel or over say 28ish feet. Thanks for any help you can give!

First - welcome to the forum....
Secondly - Oh Boy are you going to get a range of answers.....wait and see.
My suggestion is to go to a few RV shows and see what interests you - from there do some investigating as to good bad or indifferent reviews on what you like......
Personally, we have a Sunline T2499 and love it and yes Sunline is our of business and yes I purchased it AFTER the closed, I loved the quality of my smaller (Sunline T1950) and wanted to grab a 2499 before it was too late.

I don't know of a reviews site for rvs, but I have never seen a bad review of an Artic Fox (or other Northwood built) trailer on this site that I can remember. There are other brands that generally get favorable reviews such as Jayco and KZ, but even those have some dissenters here.

The list of top rated TT's is not what it was a few years ago due to the fall of the industry. Some of the ones on the list now are there due to default, many of the best are gone. As with many things in life, you get what ya pay for, so find out what ones cost the most and that will be a close list you seek, not exact, but close. You didn't ask what TT is the best deal and the best rated depends on who is doing the rating.

I know you want the ratings for free (might as well ask) but the RV Consumer Group has a book and a CD that rates most of the RV's out there which we used back in '03 to decide on an RV.
Also, go to www.rvknowhow.com and read the Kieva's suggestions for how to select an RV.

The top rated trailer will depend entirely on who you ask. I'll post a link to a place where OWNERS rate their own RVs (and probably any others that they just don't like form some reason). You can browse the different brands as much as you like but DO take the ratings with a grain of salt unless it's a brand with a fairly large number of reviews. If they have only a dozen or so be VERY WARY of accepting the results as there isn't a statistically large enough sample to have any value.

Probably the best is Airstream followed by Pacific Coachworks Tango. The Tango reps hit the counters with a baseball bat in demos to show strength and quality so if you have kids it should be on your short list.

Wow, thanks for all the replies. Definetly have some research to do! There's an RV show coming up @ Atlantic City in the near future, I plan on attending. I'll check on that Pacific Coachworks....

After 4 months of research and looking at every trailer that was available within 500 miles of where we live, we had our search narrowed down to a Tango 309BHS, Arctic Fox 26Z2, and Cougar 30BHS. Honestly, in our searching, we could not find much difference in the build quality and overall workmanship between these three brands. In our opinion they were all of a superior build quality. We ended up with a Cougar 30BHS because of the three we liked the floor plan of it the best. We have camping friends who have had a Tango 309 for about 1 year and they have had no problems with it. They were impressed with our new trailer. I don't think you would go wrong with any of these three brands.
