I took off down to do some red drum fishing on Assateague Island the past few weekends. And much like the economy the fishing has been tough. I had plenty of time to take some photos so i figured i would share. I did manage several kingfish "sea mullet" which were great for dinner. Surf and Turf , a nice new york strip and some fresh fish was a great dinner. Anyway i just wanted to share some of the beauty of Assateague Island.

By the way michelle, the kids and i will be in WV this weekend for the OERV campout. Hope to see some of you there rain or shine maybe even snow lol!!!!!!

The best part of Assateague is that if the surf fishing gets bad, you can always go to the back bay and catch plenty of crab and clams! Either way, a fresh seafood dinner! And when the fishing is GOOD, I use the entrails from cleaning the surf-caught fish for crab bait in the bay! All you need then is a little firewood, some veggies for a salad, maybe a fire-baked potato or an ear of corn, and a sufficient quantity of your favorite adult carbonated beverage!

Looks like you had a great trip! I always miss Assateague withing a day of leaving there!

There is but tides keep the sand wet and require short naps.

Ah, Ron, your really a great reporter. We're leaving in the morning for OERV's annual campout. We ain't letting no stinking cold rain scare us off, Linda tells me. It was a bit rainy at the Lazy H last year, but the camp ground is so very well set up with plenty of covered and enclosed space, that everyone enjoyed the "DO". We were hoping that Cassy Anna. our DGD, was coming with us, but she is a bit under the weather, and her Mother is wise.
We'll see Ya der !

The family and I are leaving in the morning for the camp out. It was good last year with plenty of events for the kids. I hope to leave at 0600 but since I am traveling with three girls I will be lucky to depart by noon. Oh-well; at least the beer will have plenty of time to chill on the way out.
Ron - Christy made me get a bottle of rum on the way home from work today so we can drain your bottle tomorrow and ours on saturday!!!
