Why did NASCAR not get with modern technology when developing the COT? They could have solved the restrictor plate issues by simply going to fuel injection engines with rev limitors, or computer mapped engines. NASCAR should have looked into designing the COT to the specs of say a German Touring Racecar. Modern materials, modern engines, and more room for manufacturers, and privateers. NASCAR is not a stock car anymore, there is more on an open wheel car that applies to our everyday vehicles. NASCAR needs to take a long hard look at how they are doing business, or else they will end up in the same mess as open wheel racing is today.

they are racing there at full speed no horses spared...................I quit following nascar a long time ago and see no reason to watch again besides I can get all I want to know about it here
If at first you don't succeed--don't try sky diving!!
I'd rather be camping
NASCAR owns Talladega, and there's going to be NASCAR-type(restrictor plate) racing at Talladega until NASCAR is no more. NASCAR is NOT for sale, therefore we're kinda stuck with the way they do business.
We either quit watching NASCAR, OR we can just keep on talking about how they have screwed up the racing.
My vote is to keep watching, and talking,.....UNTIL IRL changes the rules the way I want them. Back in the day, I was an avid fan of Indy Cars. I want them to go back to THOSE rules.
Congratulations to Jack Roush and Jamie McMurray. Did THEY complain? Not this time.

David Hobbs has the best solution. He said, "Eliminate the aero downforce, and go to narrower tires. This would result in close racing(real racing) all race long, and the cars would all run slower(safer), and nobody would even have to mention restrictor plates."

Not that you'll hear or see, on camera, or in an interview, but talk to the drivers & crews, off camera & away from a mike,as some of us have & you'll hear what they really think.

But, that would be like a tree falling in the forest when there's nobody around to hear it,.......Like it never happened.

You could also eliminate aerodynamics, by standing those hugh windshields straight up, like an old Model A, hell, their not stock anyways, this would slow them down without the restrictor plates, and still leave enough horsepower for a driver to pull out & make a pass, without having to count on 15 other guys to go with him.
