I read your posts and you remind me of my wife and I.
We bought a short 23'-8" foot motor home that replaced a much smaller 17 foot motor home. We also tow a small car which weighs 2200 pounds like your Accent. We love our rig & tow combination. You may find what we have is much bigger compared to what you have today because the van front consumes much less of the over-all vehicle than your truck does. The brand we bought has the van cabin open to the living quarters, which further reduces that closed-in feeling on rainy days.
I, too, drive a shorter coach and until now have never towed. One of the very real advantages of driving your short, manueverable coach on day trips is the availability of the bathroom, fridge, lunch facilities, etc. These are things that add to the motorhoming experience. Why not enjoy them ALL the time instead of towing a car. Driving the car sorta turns you into a regular citizen! Why not be a motorhomer all the time?
