I'm going to purchase a digital picture frame, maybe 8x10 or so, and hopefully from costco. I want to have costco scan and load 50 or so of our old prints as a starting point and give the frame to my wife for our upcoming anniversary.
What has your experiences been with these frames? Any pointers when shopping for a new one?
Thanks

I think they are pretty straight forward.
My wife's mom has one. You can directly load your digital media straight onto the picture frame.

Go to sites like Amazon or Cnet and check user ratings on different brands. My inlaws have a Kodak and I load the pictures on it for them, seems easy to use.

Looks like costco will not load the frame for me. They provide the images on a dvd (40 for $3).
Do these frames accept a dvd for loading onto the frames memory? If not, can the frames be loaded via a usb cable from a pc to the frame?
Thanks

It may be brand dependent but we have a Kodak and a brand X that we received as a gift and they both have that capability. the limiting factor will be storage capacity. Images can be loaded on a SD card that can then be inserted. Very easy to do. Another thought would be to use a memory stick.

No None of the currently available Photo Frames uses a DVD.
The easiest and least expensive option would be to Copy the desired Images onto individual SD Cards then insert those into the slot in the Photo Frames!

We were given a Kodak frame as a gift, and it is very nice, but the only way it works is with an SD card in it.
I think they are out there that you can load pictures via USB cable from your computer and change them at will. I would look for one of those. At the moment, we have our trip to China on the frame, but I rarely fill up a card - I download everything to the computer and go from there.

They are the neatest electronic gadget right now. We got one about two years ago and right now I have over 900 pictures on it. All the highlights of places we have visited in the last 5 years of fulltiming and people we have met and want to remember. Just an ongoing slide show.

simply way is just your your cd of pictures in the computer, plug up your frame with the USB cable and transfer all the pictures over. One thing I would suggest,, get a screen size larger than you think you need. The actual viewing area is NOT the the advertised size of the frame, you have about 2 inches of outer frame
